Jesus Christ. 1) He isn't even a Tiote-type player, although I'm sure he can be molded into one (Pardew seems to like to play him in that 'destroyer' role). 2) Might sound like a broken record, but having seen pretty much all his games for Coventry I'll be shocked if he's even Premier League quality next season. He's a decent young prospect but nothing remarkable yet. "Tiote-quality" ffs

"wonderkid", he's certainly solid for an 17-18 year-old. I've watched him play a multitude of times for Coventry and, although unremarkable, he certainly looks like he has the enthusiasm to up his game for this new challenge. Obviously very early days for him but on the basis of what I've seen, he's definitely not as exciting a prospect as many on here seem to think. Outstanding attitude by all accounts, so here's hoping he proves me wrong.

At the "Team GB" game today and some blatantly English twat was draped head to toe in Brazil gear, even had the flag wrapped around his shoulders acting like Mr. Pentacampeão. Don't get me wrong, I only ventured into Boro to see the likes of Neymar, Silva and Pato etc. strut their stuff but hearing "LET'S FAHKIN AV EM BRAZIL" in his thick cockney accent for 90 minutes made me want to piledrive him (the wrestling move, not some weird gay euphemism).

I'm no Nostradamus but I'll stick my neck out here and say he won't be as good as Essien and Yaya Toure.

I've seen the lad play around 9 times and these are the things I've noticed; he's an attacking midfielder, not a Tiote-type destroyer as he doesn't seem to possess the physical attributes needed for this role (has a tendency to mistime tackles as well). Not particularly speedy or strong , he does demonstrate good skills on the ball and is a very good passer. Obviously the lad has time on his side, but calls for him to be in the running for first-team football next season are a tad optimistic unless he significantly improves. Cool hair though, i'll give him that.
