  1. Could be. Share buying is a gamble. I don't work in the stock markets but a lot of what city traders do seem to be based on rumours. Dress up in a smart suit, stand outside the stock exchange and as the traders are all arriving for work, shout into your phone "Bank Of America are buying Northern Rock?" - Watch the share price rise. My share tip? Arms companies. There's always a war going on somewhere. blatantly republican I don't think so, I'm from Newcastle not the US. Anyway, the whole point of shares is trying to make money. You don't have to like the companies or what they sell. It's a fact of life that there are always wars. Not meaning to make an example of CoachHTT but "I'm hoping we get a recession or a big crash, purely for selfish reasons like." comment is a "look after number 1" attitude. The fact that if NR went bust 6000 local people (including a lot of NUFC supporters) would lose their jobs doesn't come into his equation. We all usually want what's best for ourselves. That's capitalism for you. dont worry.. the revolution is on its way

  3. Excellent time to buy. Providing you see the shares as long term investments and not short term. yeah.. get'em cheap and sell them 5 or so years on
  4. tbf i'd like to see smith up front, he's class up there ok.. let the lambasting commence
  5. How? Are you an ordinary shareholder? Shares can go down as well as up. You've only lost the money if you sold the shares today. Who knows what the shares will be worth in the future. A few rumours of a takeover and watch those shares climb. I imagine a lot of muggers have been hanging around Northern Rock branches today waiting to mug the people who have withdrawn their savings. thats the onnly reason im not ripping my hair out atm... im not gonna sell them anytime soon anyway
  6. ridiculous says it all, to be a good defender you have to be running around like Steven Taylor on ecstacy or flying in with challanges left, right and centre Ferdinand doesn't have to do this because he's one step ahead of the attacker, Ferguson's no mug, there's a reason he paid £30m for him aye and shevchenko was bought for that price... kind of negates the whole "hes expensive therefore he's good" arguement And you think Shevchenko is NOT good oh my dear... is that an ironic statement?.. if not then you need your head checked, shevchenkos done nothing all of last season.. making him "not good" imo
  7. just lost around 4000 quid.. no joke... but.......its only money :'(

  9. how was he? didn't catch the barnsely match myself and i'm growing rather impatient.. He had a quiet game and was quite obviously nervous at the beginning. But i was definitely encouraged by what i saw; he definitely seems to have quality. There wasn't an awful lot to do in the way of defensive work, and Caçapa ruled the show when there was, but in the second half going forward he linked well with N'Zogbia - and i remember in-particular this superb little through ball over the defense. Looking forward to seeing more of him. hmm.. thanks.. hope the lad fills in at left-back against derby; i can see zoggy ripping them apart if he was in midfield.

  13. Rio is mega overrated... hes just average
  14. I'd say it's easier to push someone over when they're kneeling down, tbh. Try it next time you're in church. simple physics really: if the centre of gravity is lower in an object it is harder to topple it than one in which the centre of gravity is higher.. mass being equal of course

  18. crumpy's just trying to garner some attention... taylors a good young player who looked sublime when compared to a previously shite defence.. gotta keep the lad- will turn out to be a great player and our future captain.
  19. ooops yeah you made the foreign player one, not this one.... aah yeah sorry; thought you were calling your own thread pointless there.. i think i've been in front of the computer too long..
  20. and yet people complain when players aren't "proud to wear the shirt" ... surprised though, i've always been a big england fan, and i didn't know that so many people don't care.
  21. oh RRRrrrrreeeeaaaalllllyyyy.... ....lots of critisims and no suggestions?? Care to venture a suggestion, rather than piss on other people's?? not "pissing on other peoples' suggestions.. just giving my view on each player mentioned.. denying me my right to criticise means that you're pissing on my opinions. So yeah, rrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeaally
