  1. your comment is very much appreciated
  2. come on alex.. have a go at him now. btw i totally agree
  3. Looks... ok there. Much better than than the other shots. I won't be buying it though, in fact I was out earlier with my friend and sort of caved in and bought the away shirt so that's more than enough (having that and the home) for me. Giveover.. its not that bad. I quite like it actually... seen some much worse kits, like last years away was awful.
  4. wouldn't it? If we want to reach that high european echalante we need to be beating teams like boro (expecting to struggle) home or away. we can't just be content with draws against teams we'r better than.. don't see the problem with that. That's just my view anyway- its not like i'm talking about manyoo here, just saying i'll be dissappointed if we don't win. With these Ferrero Rocher you are really spoiling us. meant echelon....
  5. Have they? Man city took enormous risks with their purchases, they bought players who did reasonably well in their respective leagues and a lot of money was spent by a rather mediocre manager... sound familiar?, think back to us a few years ago. whether these new-comers are going to have the desired effect is still very much the question; if they do work out then good on sven for taking these risks. I think we've done very well this transfer season and bought some rather good players at bargain basement prices. We've improved the team vastly without having to spend megabucks; if we paid for viduka, geremi and cacapa would you be happier then? just to prove we have the money. Its the first season, the stabilizer.. ashley needs to assess what we need and how much investment is needed by watching us this season; he's not going to piss away his own money because people want to complain about a low net spend.. Do we need a playmaker? yes, but don't forget we have very good midfieldes who, surprisingly, are adept enough to make through balls and, with the strikeforce that we have; it would be unfeasible to think that we aren't a side with goals in us. Complaining now 2 games in, is outlandish to say the least.. at least give the team time to positively assert your assumptions that this season will not be a success. le'ts just say this.. isn't it a testament to big sam that we actually have these high hopes to begin with? when last yearwas a complete farce. Give the team a time for stability instead of heaping on the negativity, it helps nobody.
  6. 'father of the year' on his mug
  7. was that a dig at me? cos i was taking the piss mate... nah it wasnt, I havent even read what you said. My point was just part of what BB is moaning about is the amount weve spent, when imo it means nothing when you consider souness spent 50million rightio then..
  8. He's not actually a particularly good footballer though. We should have spent the money better. Name me one one Newcastle transfer in the last 10 years that couldn't be said about? Rozenhal. My point is that we did not need a player in the position Smith plays, or with his limited ability. I'll give you he's looking good but yet to be proven really. Get your point NM but there are a couple of things about smudger. First and foremost SA is building a squad, something NUFC hasn't had in a long time. Second, the mentality Smith brings to the club is something that hasn't had since KK. Lastly the club has been blighted by players over recent seasons who are very one dimensional in their playing positions and their mentality about that - Dyer on the right for example. Smith although a utility player not only gives the manager options but also is an example to others. I'm still out on smudger, I have never been a big fan but there is just something about him that has success about it. black talking sense. think smith is what we need right now and would people stop complaining about the price ffs, richardson went for 5mil..
  9. looks quite real, except that tiny bit at the bottom where the shirt tucks in.. makes it look too argie iyam.. quite like it the way it is.
  10. was that a dig at me? cos i was taking the piss mate...

Saying it would be abysmal is different to saying you'd be disappointed though. I'll be a little disappointed if we dont win but I wont be too disheartned were we to draw. You get what i mean, you know it's a game we should win.
  12. A club is developed in phases and a well thought through strategy that inc investment behind the scenes and in the overall knowledge base. To build a team from solid foundations as SA is doing is nothing to be scoffed at and not something that shows lack of foresight or spending power. We have the ability to spend and this has been made clear often enough by Mr Mort and other communications from the club. £30m has been wiped off the debt and a lot of stragglers have been cleared out. We already show signs of a dynamic and competitive midfield that is less likely to roll over away from home and our strike force is as good as any in the league on paper. Def issues have been addressed and will continue to be addressed. Throwing silly money at players is not out policy any longer and a good thing that is too. SA has highlighted the need to compete and keep clean sheets as part of his philosophy to develop a side that is hard to beat, witness the seachange in Liverpool with the arrival of Benitez, it was safety first and still is to an extent and the same goes for Chelsea. Combine this with the fact that we have signed and excellent prospect and sought after left back at the fraction of the cost of the player that Spurs have acquired and I am more than happy. The next step will be to add some creativity to the midfield and don't assume that Sam isn't aware of this (witness the continuing rumours reg Deco). I don't think SA has any intention on relying on Emre alone and that will be the case as you'll see by the end of the transfer window. We are moving in the right direction which I feel is clear to the majority of the support. fair play to you... would have been easier to take the piss like i did. Wasted your time if its a wind-up though

  14. Away game. Derby. Anything less than a win is abysmal. Pretty much like the thread by Brazilianbob you've just been taking the piss out of. slightly the opposite of what BB said tho.. keep up mate he said that we have a dissappointing season lined up.. i said i'll be dissappointed if we don't win..
  15. i don't care at all if we're winning
  16. Away game. Derby. Anything less than a win is abysmal. Pretty much like the thread by Brazilianbob you've just been taking the piss out of. except mine is more positive
  17. Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
  18. In all honesty anything less than a win is abysmal. I reckon owen is fit enough, and if martins is injured stick viduka up front- just want to see those two together really.
  19. As opposed to our vision and creativity last year..
  20. Bob is absoluely right.. where are all the trophy signings? the mercenaries? surely we cant break into the top four without them like.. its ridiculous. i'm supporting another club.
  21. aye because if we really wanted him, he would have stopped making contact with chelsea all together
  22. we should stop buying tickets until it happens..
  23. i agree! out with alladyce... bring back souness he really spent the money
  24. West ham won't stop unril they have the most maligned team in the league.. Curbs likes bad boys.
  25. Should there not be an adidas logo on the shorts? usually put the trademark 3 stripes on the shorts instead of the actual logo
