  1. Came in and immediately pissed off just about everyone; most notably Eddie. Was arrogant and condescending from day one and achieved nothing for all his bluster.
  2. What if you were making 3k a month and another company offered you 15k to do the same job, but your current employer refused to let you leave? Would you be unsettled? Or say oh well and just get on with it?
  3. I think we’re way more likely to pay closer to 40m than Spurs are. Not sure about Nottingham though.
  4. Just imagining a Suds and Brucey double act Steve asking about key metrics like: “Sleeves Rolled Up Per 90”, “Proper Lad Index” (what’s his XP ie. expected pint, shirt untucked percentages etc.) “Glove Likelihood Models” (algorithms for how likely it is the player will wear gloves under different temperatures), “Passion Heat Maps” (where on the field did players get stuck in more and shout ‘-ave it!’) This is fun.
  5. Love how a cartel club just asking about one of our players magically inflates our wage bill Just highlights the Sisyphean type shit we’re up against here.
  6. Those teams already heavily use data gurus etc. everyone does. It’s hardly some new football frontier. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a solid step, but probably not the game-changer some are making it out to be. Doubt we’ll notice much difference from the stands.

    Yoane Wissa

I think he’s seriously underrated. He’s fast, strong, versatile, works relentlessly, presses intelligently, and his finishing is up there with the best in the league. His off-the-ball movement is ridiculously clever too. Honestly, I reckon part of why he flies under the radar is because he just looks so forgettable. If he had the looks of Edgar Davids (and was four years younger), top clubs would be all over him.
  8. Bednarek and Muric, not so much.
  9. Depends on the gk and cb, surely? Donnaruma and Guehi and I’m very happy .
  10. We don’t, according to Downie.
  11. We’ve seen it before. Players are a bit thick; most can’t see further than “oh wow, more money at a more glamorous club!”
  12. It’s not about convenience, it’s about accountability. Mitchell isn’t being blamed because he’s gone; he’s being blamed now because the consequences of his decisions are finally surfacing. Then again, any excuse to body that smug clown and I’m in. Hated him from the jump.
  13. Well, it’s the only way to go, no? Try for your ambitious targets first and if they fail to materialize pivot to more gettable deals. Just have to hope the time taken doesn’t leave us short when the window closes.
  14. @r0cafella I mean sitting out that friendly raises eyebrows, and maybe his head has been turned a little. That’s normal when top clubs are circling. But let’s not jump straight to ‘the club’s angling to sell.’ We’re in a tricky PSR situation, and being cautious on wages doesn’t mean we won’t offer him a new deal he’d be happy with. These things take time, especially with a player of his value. As long as there’s no formal push from his side to leave, we’re still in a strong position imo. I’m fairly optimistic he’ll sign a new deal once the Liverpool interest settles down.
  15. Why not? Can see him doubling his salary and inserting a mutually beneficial release clause. Win-win ish.
  16. I think it’s just agent talk to put pressure on his new deal with us and Al-Hilal doing their bit in putting pressure on Osimhen.
  17. Can someone please post the article? My usual paywall buster is blocked apparently.

    Yoane Wissa

Let’s be honest, backup strikers don’t get much better than Wissa. He’s not far off Mbeumo ability-wise and fits what Eddie Howe wants in a forward; all action, flexible, works hard and great personality. Sure, it’s a short-term fix but what do you really expect from your sixth-choice target? That said, concerns about his age and the fee in this PSR world are completely fair.
  19. Exhausting stuff. That’s 2 keepers, 5 hybrid strikers and a defender that we were in for that have gone to other clubs now. Some going.
  20. Said it before but I can see us trying for and getting absolutely pied by Xavi Simmons next.
  21. Ah man. He was the player I was sure we were getting . Absolute pisser.
  22. Possibly sounds worse out of context but whatever’s going on it’s affected Isak negatively.
