  1. If you only consider transferring to teams where you're guaranteed to start, you'll limit your chances of joining a strong one.
  2. If we start bidding above 65m, I’ll start getting worried though.
  3. Ugh. Spurs actually gonna be good this season. Hate that the got Champions League after being so poor for most of the season.
  4. Hope they know what they’re doing here. Offer a new contract if you’re not gong to accept “lowball” fees; for his age and contract situation 12m isn’t a terrible offer. Fair play if we manage to squeeze another few million out of them but it’s a risky move. Unless, of course, Howe really wants to keep him, which raises a whole different set of questions.
  5. Out of the “big” clubs that can afford a 60m plus fee it’s only really us and Liverpool that currently need a striker. I mean, Chelsea hardly need one too but that’s never stopped them in the past.
  6. Nice to see we’re targeting Scalvini’s regen early! Win-win though, if Liverpool get him we’ll likely have a free run at Guehi.
  7. Kudus is more talented in the traditional sense but under Eddie, Elanga’s definitely the better player for us imo.
  8. It’s fine to care about stuff, like. Think it’d be cool if he took on the mantle of the number 9 shirt, personally.
  9. Yeah, not sure about the super high placement the of the crest and logo. Looks awful on that bloke in the middle imo.
  10. I agree but I doubt we’d be the only club interested in his services this summer. A modern, young, future England no. 1 goalkeeper will have a lot of admirers and they’d feel they’ve every right to flush out more parties to instigate a bidding war. Us playing too tough will seemingly only end one way, and that’s us losing out.
  11. His value at Burnley will never be higher (unless he unexpectedly signs a new deal) so I can understand why they’re holding out for big bucks this window. It’s weird; we’re trying to play hardball, but I don’t see what real leverage we have here.

    João Pedro

I’d have hoped if he’s been noncing he goes down regardless, but that’s me. Ask any of my friends and they’ll tell you; to a fault, I’ve always been anti-noncing.
  13. We’ve been linked with that Openda before. Not sure how much he’d cost (probably too much tbh) but I wouldn’t be super surprised if we make a move for him.
  14. DCL isn’t bad in general play at all tbf. He links up well, has a great leap and puts in a shift but, admittedly, it’s hard to overlook his poor finishing, sketchy availability and underwhelming goal return. If the wages aren’t crazy it’s hardly a disaster of a signing imo. I mean it’s a free transfer.
  15. If we’re signing a cm it’ll be someone young with a lot of upside imo. Like that Amir kid from Fiorentina we were tenuously linked with (or a similar profile anyway).
  16. Cuts in as well as any left footer too tbf.
  17. So we’re an injury or 2 away from people hating Osula, then.
  18. I don’t see why they would sell now when his stock will be at its lowest. An injury-free season and they could be the beneficiaries of a big club bidding war for his services.
  19. Scalvini was already starting for the national team before his injury, so clearly there’s talent there. But I’ve got some concerns. His injury history isn’t great, and he’s seemingly not exactly quick across the ground (sadly a theme for our current defenders). Also, let’s be real; Italian youngsters tend to get overhyped early, and recently, not many have actually lived up to it. That said, I’d still be excited to see him come through. There’s a lot to work with, and if he can stay fit, he could develop into something serious imo.
  20. Bruno was signed by the same people looking at Elanga. You could extend the same argument to him as well. Why didn’t we buy Bruno from Athletico Paranaense for 17m?
  21. We’re potentially buying the best player from a team that challenged us for the Champions’ League. We’re “overpaying”by maybe 10m max. To put it in perspective a player in Gittens who’s nowhere near as good will be going for a similar amount. (There’s so much value from abroad! ).
  22. If you’ve ever watched him in the last 2 seasons you’d think the same. Crazy speed, peach of a delivery, great with both feet, a menace in transitions and crazy work-rate. People were frothing at the thought of getting Diaby in for similar money; Elanga’s much better. Don’t understand the negativity.
