Barca have been shamelessly trying to shift Torres to us since the takeover.

Unless there’s a “smoking gun” like, for example, some communication between the clubs explicitly saying “you pay a little more to cover our psr shortfall and we’ll overpay for a player you don’t want” I can’t see how we can be sanctioned. You’d imagine no one associated with this deal would be daft enough to get caught out like that though.

Jetro Willems (now playing for Deportivo Castellón)
McCormick replied to Newcastle Fan's topic in Football
That Jetro-Maxi partnership on the left was so fun to watch. Absolute suicide defensively, sure, but so fun. -
We had a much publicized inquiry for Isak many weeks before we finally had a bid accepted. The Tonali bid was dragged across several weeks, Bruno and Wood I can’t really remember as that January was a bit hectic and we were seemingly in for everyone. Trippier? We were linked to Trippier for a month before him coming in?

Only one of our signings (possibly 2) could be argued “came out of nowhere”. Not sure what people are talking about when they say this.

If you’ve got the money, drink is as easy to get in KSA as weed is in the UK. edit: he could also stay in the diplomatic quarters in Riyadh which serve booze too. Alcohol will soon be legal in KSA anyway, I reckon.

Battling against Bologna? No disrespect to them but if both teams are in for him it shouldn’t be much of a battle. His YouTube highlights look promising.
-
From what I’ve seen he plays similarly to Mbuemo? Not super creative; loves a long shot.

35m is mad considering he’s just back from a bad injury and is in terrible form. The fact that they think they have a better player lined up for 10-15m less is slightly annoying (if these reports are true). “Value from abroad” and all that…
-
What he’s saying is fairly logical tbf and Occam’s razor and all that, he’s probably right.
-
He was really good the season before but he came back from his injury looking very shaky. He’s got enough about him to be a solid to potentially very good PL defender in time though, imo.
-
They hate him . He’s had a poor season after his injury but they were saying he was going to be one of the best in the world one day just last season. Like most fans, Milanistas are a pretty fickle lot. FWIW I don’t think he’s a world-beater but he’s still young and, at 25 odd million pounds, it’s a fair price for what he’d bring.
-
You’re at least 10m short there imo.

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)
McCormick replied to Strawberry's topic in Football
Maybe this news has affected our transfer targets list? Thought we’d spend big on 2 players; a cb and a rw. We’ll need to adjust now and split that budget to include a decent striker now. Frustrating but all too predictable. -
How does a “marquee signing” not replace Almiron? Slightly confusing.
-
See where you’re coming from but I disagree. Everyone’s been saying it for years but if he could finish seasons the same way he starts them, he’d be considered world-class and out of our league. There’s games where he looks like a 100m player and others where you could sub him off for Jacob Murphy and the team would improve. If, and it’s a fairly big if, he can find even a teeny bit more consistency he’d be sensational for us.
-
Shearergol’s post has me imagining a world where we’re signing either Raphinha/Bowen/Sane. The most marquee of marquee RW signings that are -arguably- borderline realistic.
-
Watch nonce here but if he got it for 500k that would be an amazing deal; he could flip that and sell it for triple the money. If you’ve got the sway at the dealer, buying a RM is pretty much a license to print money for the filthy rich.
-
Barnes and Mbuemo always put up great g/a numbers. That’s not boring to me but to each their own I guess. edit: damn, npw
-
Impressive from West Ham if he ends up there.
-
Yeah, I don’t really rate David that highly, especially as a 9. His level is probably around lower-mid to mid-table imo.
-
Tbf though, that’s the same for pretty much any player.

Pre-season (2025/26) - NUFC to play Atletico Madrid in Sela Cup

That’s completely fair . Mechanical watches are fairly pointless, especially when you’re usually just checking the time on your phone anyway. I dunno though, I just like them. -

As a Rolex (well, watches in general) collector, I feel personally attacked . If you don’t want all the flash and baggage that comes with a Rolex then just get a Tudor; they’ll fulfill all your tool watch requirements at a fraction of the price. Same company and basically what Rolex’s were 20 years ago. Rolex’s today are still simple and timeless(ha ha) for the most part. The added complications are just for Horology nerds and pushing the envelope for what watchmakers can achieve; which I love. For me, they still offer one of, if not the best value in terms of luxury timepieces in the market. In saying that, getting your hands on one at an AD is the most obnoxious buying experience in the world though.
