No player we buy this summer will be as good as Maddison… unless of course we buy Maddison. -

He’s definitely elite. A team full of “Maddison level” players would probably win the league (or at least come close). -
Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)

Did a randomizer (because I’m cool like that) and got Sevilla, Inter and Zagreb. -
Anderson’s passing is so lush. I imagine they’ll be wanting big bucks though? Would obviously be delighted with Maddison with KWP being a great squad option. None are in the age bracket we like to shop in though so not sure how likely.
-
Devil’s advocate but a “time to reflect”would mean they’ll be looking at which players they’ll prioritize with the remaining funds. It’s still very early in the window; opportunities may reveal themselves and prices could drop as clubs start getting itchy feet.
-
If Leverkusen weren’t taking the absolute piss with their valuation, Diaby was a link I thought we’d revisit.
-
I’m desperate to see us sign some players who can create and score goals. Miggy’s purple patch aside, our wingers’ etc. outputs are pretty poor.
-
Think he’d be someone we’re interested in if we sell maxi.
-
Can see you really don’t like him but 18 goals in all competitions isn’t terrible.
-
Nah. Poor control and technically not the best- sure- but he’s a good finisher, a big game player, a hard -worker and could jump over a building.
-
Ah okay, fair enough. I just meant In terms of play style etc. he’s a perfect Howe player and would replace Wood as the target-man/ hold-up striker. He’s basically the big Kiwi on steroids.
-
Why would you be surprised? I know he’s a striker and we’ve got 2 good ones already but En-Nesryi would be right up our street. A hard-working, physical beast who (imo) is the most aerially dominant striker in world football. We were interested in DCL last year and this guy is already the player we thought he’d become.
-
They already don’t want to sell DS. It’s only the release clause that’s making them consider it.
-
Can’t be showcasing another clubs colours on our flags imo. Otherwise, yeah, would be really nice to have a welcome flag for the lad (if he signs- don’t want to jinx it, despite how far along it is ).
-
Yeah, he’s super limited. Plays like a cb shifted into midfield.
-
Pretty sure that’s never going to happen. Hilal won’t be happy with that; PIF or not, Hilal fans will be disappointed and I doubt their board will give a shit about helping Newcastle at their expense.
-
Honestly think Burn is worth much more to us than the paltry fee we’d receive for him. Would be a massive mistake imo
-
Somewhat coincidentally, a friend who’s a big Feyenoord fan was frothing about him the other day. Saying he was the best defender he’s seen since De Vrij and expects him to replace KMJ at Napoli. Not sure we need another left-footed cb though unless we want him to take up the Burn role?
-
Literally after this season we will be sell to buy unless we make the Champion’s League again. We’re at the FFP limit unless we manage to source more commercial revenue streams.
-
He’s a shell of what he once was unfortunately.
-
Not with Ffp we won’t. So much ground to make up and every year the gap gets greater.
-
One of the best left backs in the world.
-
Gordon’s a good player with huge upside. Im sure he’ll have a big season for us this year. I’m willing to die on this hill.
-
He’s basically a McTominay that can pass
