https://www.eurogamer.net/fifa-21-and-the-curious-case-of-nick-popes-height In a September 2019 interview with The I, Pope was asked how tall he is "Six-foot-six-inches-ish," he replied. "The average door is six-foot-six-inches... I've banged my head on a few!"

I know we hate them, but come on. That's like saying Real Madrid carries just a bit more prestige than Villareal. I know we want it to be different and maybe it will be in a decade, but we're not close even if we may be able to compete with them in the league this season.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

The last week could be very interesting for Leicester. Most likely they probably sell Tielemans for less than they originally hoped and get Chelsea to pay enough for Fofana, but maybe it goes another way... -
I hate this line of thinking. Athletes have a limited window of time to make money and maximizing that opportunity is what 99.9% of people would do. You can't even complain he's taking a payday to sit on the bench as he's already doing that.
-
Yeah, the comments questioning why he'd want to go there are pretty silly. They are still one of a handful of clubs in the world that are seen as the pinnacle and they pay as much as anyone.
-
It would definitely be very, very interesting if we were sitting 5th or 6th in January. But it would only take a couple critical injuries to see us firmly stuck in the 8-12 range. We have a pretty wide range of outcomes given the quality of our first XI and the disaster that is the rest of the squad.

Even in the absolute best case scenario I can't imagine he'll be back before Fulham away on Oct. 1. There would be no sense in racing him back right before a break.

It’s worrying how good we might be tbh.
-
Surely there’s some very old but capable GK we could bring in if Pope got hurt for an extended period of time. The only part of this I don’t like is it being a loan.
-
I think we potentially have much larger issues at CM with even one injury.
-
I could live with a Dubravka for McTominay loan swap if they even the wages out, but other than that (which would never happen) they can fuck off.

Rip them off please

Krafth went above him and then Howe just brought on Trippier in a game where I'm sure he'd rather not play him. It may have to be, but I have a feeling we'll at least see what's out there.
-
What a bummer -- maybe we can find someone on loan.
-
If we were targeting aging players that cost a fortune on high wages without the commercial income to back it up then I could see being worried because eventually we'd be fucked between FFP and the PL regulations. But, by all accounts, we are being extremely diligent, signing players that are young and frankly turning heads with some of them (Bruno, Isak), plus improving players who are already here. If there were ever a time to just trust the seemingly very capable people in charge of the club and assume they've got the accounting part handled then now is that time. Enjoy the ride because I'm pretty sure we're still in the early stages of a golden era of NUFC.

I hope he's "ill" in the about to exit sense of the word. Using him to fund improvements elsewhere seems very sensible.
-
From a friend who only watches La Liga - "I think he's pretty great, but will never be elite." I told him to fuck off.

Can't wait to see how Luke wiggles out of that brilliant piece of reporting.
