I don't think it's ridiculous to say adding him could increase our league position by 1-2 places. That's £2-4m right there.

I was going to say the same -- this is going to be the most enjoyable and relaxing transfer window of maybe my entire life. January was exciting, but also stressful because of our league position. The second half of the season went better than anyone could have expected, which sets us up really well to sell the project. We have money and we're going to spend some of it. If we don't get a player it will either because we didn't want them or they chose somewhere else. Not because we weren't actually trying. I can't find much to be stressed about honestly.

If the noises about Bamford are true I wouldn't expect him back any time soon. On-going foot pain that is taking much longer than expected to heal? Honestly wouldn't shock me if he doesn't return this season. Phillips and Cooper due to be back in early March. They have fallen apart since those injuries so that should help their defensive problems. They have to be considered part of this battle though.

In the time I wrote that they've conceded again. Make that 15 in their last four and a -19 GD (worst in the league) since the beginning of December. And another, christ. 16 goals conceded in their last four! - 20 GD since December.

Leeds have conceded 14 times in their last four games, two against teams right around them in the table. Since the beginning of December they have the joint worst goal difference (-18 w/ Norwich) and they have 2W, 2D, and 7L. There is basically no difference between them and Brentford over the last 2.5 months.

That should have been a foul every time though and he has no other options. He’s clearly an intelligent player. That little flick when he came on was very nice. He does run a little long and heavy, which I think is where the ‘not athletic’ stuff comes from. But I don’t think it’s going to matter much in his case.

I know they haven’t been in the best form, but how far we’ve come to look that competitive and comfortable away to a team in the top third of the table. This ridiculous run of injuries is the only thing that could get us back into trouble.
