Lee Ryder: Discussions on the fee, believed to be north of £65m, are now in place with the particular structure of the payments key to a successful outcome. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-determined-show-mean-29669733
  2. We have alternatives on the bench but he keeps playing out of form players such as Burn and Longstaff. Would he play Alphonso Davies instead of Dan Burn? I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t.
  3. Not good enough. With the exception of last season he has never been good at defending. We are shipping sloppy goals for fun and he is unable to adress the problem. For me he is a dead man walking.
  4. He has lost it, and there is absolutely nothing in his managerial career suggesting that he is able to turn this. It goes from bad to worse.
  5. Well, no game changers on the bench for this one so let us hope the starting eleven delivers the goods. Howay the lads!
  6. Long time since we’ve been so sloppy in midfield. All three need to up their game in the second half, especially Shelvey. This time Bruno G can come in and really make a difference during second half.
  7. I think we should go for Fabian Schär as right back until Manquillo or Trippier is back from injury. He’s got some ball playing skills and is right footed. krafth as a starter is a no-go. He is nowhere near Premier League level and will cost us points.
  8. If Manquillo is injured as well, I think I’d go for Fabian Schär as right back. He’s got some ball playing skills and we simply cannot have Emil Krafth as a starter. He is a liability and will cost us points.
  9. Ffs. By distance our most important player on so many levels and now he’s most likely out for the rest of the season
  10. Think we’ll have to embrace ourselves for Emil Krafth instead of Kieran Trippier at right back for the next few weeks… it will really, really feel like a rail replacement bus service.
  11. Well, away to a current top 4 team is not where you’d expect us to pick up points neither this or next season. They have a much better team than us. I think West Ham will teach us a lesson and win 3-0. Bowen will be a handful. And frankly I don’t care; the Brentford match the week after is a 6 pointer. Anything at West Ham will be a huge surprise and a huge bonus.

    Joelinton

He is so vital for this team now, but it’s comical to see how clumsy he is whenever he gets the ball in the box. It must be a mental thing. After all he did score 1 in 4 both in Hoffenheim and on loan at Rapid Wien.
  13. A lot can be said about his abilities and potential (or lack of), but he is giant. And giant strikers automatically lock up defenders which in turn gives more space for players such as ASM. On the TV he look a bit hapless, but for defenders playing him his physical presence makes him a true pain in the ass for 90 minutes. And on top of that they need to take care of ASM as well.
  14. I believe we will dominate the match but lack of creativity and sharpness in the final third of the pitch will again hurt us. Post match we’ll again talk about how much we needed a Lingard in this team. 2-2, but our overall play should at least see us score 4 or 5.
  15. And his lass is perfect as well

    Jesse Lingard

Yes, but bang average is a good step up from what we have at our disposal in those area of the pitch. It’s a pity we didn’t get him.
  17. Was it disrespectful towards Jurgen Klopp when Liverpool fans sung Rafa’s name last weekend? I believe not!

    Diego Carlos

Well... I'd take two new CB's without PL experience for this game knowing the alternative is the hapless 'PL proven' Lascelles/Schar combo.
  19. 95 replies... and I'm the first to launch Joe Kinnear as one of the most likely candidates!?
  20. Can see another Brighton/Huddersfield game coming up here. We are way too cautious against the (few) teams that show us some respect, sits back and play on the counter. My guess is a poor game and a narrow defeat.
  21. Pretty sure the ‘data room’ process will be done online. From what I’ve read on it, the club put all the accounting books etc to a 3rd party who keep it all safe. From then on any 3rd party who have signed a NDA will be given a password where they can log on and look at all the documents, so there will be no guys with boxes of files. Correct. All documents are shared online through a highly secured Dropbox type of system. In my former company the data room process were done from the other side of the world by lawyers and accountants from a third party company.
