  1. Think it's harsh to say he was totally skinned there like. If he commits, he gets done and if he doesn't and jockeys him he at least might get bodies in behind to help cover. I'd fully expect that of CB in that position he just maybe should have got half a yard tighter. Think it was good positive play from Arnautovic more than anything. The sort of quality we lack up top.
  2. The first reply BTW not the tit writing that shit
  3. Nah. Sorry like. He isn't an intelligent footballer. His decision making is probably his weakest aspect. Naturally talented aye, but not intelligent. Hopefully that comes with time and experience though.
  4. Just seen that and it's one of my good friends.
  5. That's certainly a fair point you make about running from deep. I just don't really rate Yedlin defensively so for me I think it's where he'd be utilised best. Either that or as a RWB for the reasons you stated but that'd need to be in a 532 /352 style formation.
  6. In the last 2 / 3 games I've been really impressed with this lads character. Against Everton in the 2nd half he looked like the only one willing to do something outside the box and really commit players. Today he really piled pressure on West Ham and drive at players again. Showing real passion (as are all the team) but it's more so the responsibility that I've been happy with. We've needed leaders on the pitch in recent weeks and he's seemingly stepped up to it. Good to see.
  7. I've said for weeks to my mate that Atsu was a good player he just needed to improve on his decision making. Today it looks like he made all the right decisions and subsequently had a really good, effective game. I hope that's a sign of him improving rather than just the law of averages as I think he could prove himself to genuinely be of PL quality if so. I'd quite like us to get a defensively sound RB to be honest because I think with him and Yedlin as a RM we'd have a really interesting set of wingers who commit defenders. Against teams like West Ham you could really put them on the back foot and possibly to the sword.
  8. Would love for a few journos or representatives of the club start calling them out on it. Results are the best way to silence them though. Wor Flags et al need to keep getting behind Rafa. Everyone hates it and TBH a siege mentality would be beneficial to us.
  9. I don't really like the song itself but it works and if it's positive then so be it. With the squad we have and relative lack of quality they need songs as pick me ups...
  10. They play unreal football at times but I cannot stand them. Probably out of shear jealousy but they're only what they are because of Manchester United and their success for me. Running away with the league through investment and nothing else, just ridiculous amounts of investment...and we get like none.
  11. Good of him to say so like despite being a bent cunt
  12. twats. Maybe because we understand how our club works (or doesn't)

i'll chip in after Christmas mate.
  14. Fair play to the fella like, he could have fucked up the free kick and dropped his head even further too after that mistake, but picked himself and the team up by making his opportunity count. Hayden, Shelvey and Merino might need to look over their shoulders a bit, which can only be a good thing. Particularly Shelvey from what I can gather...
  15. I really hope this was our Norwich (h) moment from last season like. I think it was Clark's tackle last year in that very game that really turned our season. This year, it might arguably be the Saivet free-kick or the Elliot penalty save...
  16. Thought he did alright, that Masuako (sp?) is a bag of tricks. Should've had an assist when Gayle missed too. Aye fair comment, I forgot about that. Too many crosses came in from both Masuaku and Cresswell for my liking though. As a team we show Premier League teams too much respect. We need to get a bit tighter all across the pitch for me. Especially vs Man City. I seem to remember the same complaint in the Championship, we gave loads of teams way too much respect. It costs us points. I kinda get it as a tactic to let them have the ball if you don't have the physicality to keep up with the opposition or stamina to keep chasing it now we're playing more talented sides. I just think sometimes it's to our detriment though, as outlined above it's in the final 3rd where it has real potential to hurt us because players in this division have the quality to punish given the opportunity. Goals from outside the box and crosses seemed to be occurring quite a lot particularly in Lascelles absence. I hope vs City we have a real siege mentality both on and off the pitch and really get up close and tight to them. TBH if we sit in and really graft once they're in the middle / final third I can see us putting up a relatively solid display and maybe nicking a goal.

  18. Oh he is so wonderful, he scores a goal, oh it's beautiful, magical! When he runs down the wing he's as fast as lightning, it's frightening, and he makes all the Geordies sing...
