  1. There are many questionable elements to people's reasoning for why Howe is shit imo. The main thing of credence is the formation/strategy and some of his players selection/substitutes. Beyond that I think folk speculatively generate reasons to degrade him to suit their preference.
  2. Last season Elanga played 1 more in a lesser side and got 2 more goal involvements... I think we bought Elanga for more than we should have, but we're also kidding ourselves if we think Gordon with anything beyond that valuation he's allegedly been given.
  3. We'll finally get a much needed win... Naaaa. Sorry. I'm an optimist usually, but feel we'll get the backlash in this one. Expecting a dicking.
  4. Just seen this before and the tifo. Moving stuff and a big fuck you to those who murdered him.
  5. Cheers mate. When I read Bali and Chania I thought you meant somewhere in the Indian Ocean...I was like "errr...okay " But I've now read up. You been to Crete a fair bit? We're renting a car like so will probably head over that way.
  6. Murphys crossing of the ball is second to very few in the Premier League. That has been evidenced across the past two seasons (less so this). His carrying of the ball is poor I agree. However, Gordon cannot pass, cross or shoot better than Murphy. It's all well and good having a winners mentality, but if you don't have the quality (or rather - don't evidence the quality) then it just makes you look like an arrogant bell end.
  7. He's got more technical ability than Gordon, I'd argue. He can shoot, pass and cross. That's not to say he's a more effective player mind. He isn't as good on the ball, and doesn't have a winners attitude, but he does have a team attitude and does work for the team, not himself. You say the market doesn't lie, but when you see Elanga as an example, Wissa as an example, and many, many others out there, I think it does. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and many will think they can get a better tune out of Gordon, and be willing to pay a significant sum, as Howe did (pay) and already has done (got a better tune) since Gordon's Everton days. Gordon will be successful at Bayern imo, but he won't be any more successful in the PL than he has been here, unless he changes his attitude.
  8. Had the same goals and assists as Gordon last season. I don't think Gordon has shown enough to prove he is the first name on the sheet in his chosen position tbh.
  9. Players should maybe consider how they've contributed to said failed season as well and take some responsibility.
  10. TBH - I don't really prescribe to any player taking this attitude. You play where your manager tells you to play and you do the best you possibly can. If you try your best and you fail that's on the manager. See Dan Burn at Left Back.
  11. I think you're right for the most part (as in public opinion) but for me that just sealed it. I had a bad opinion of him starting from that sending off vs Brighton(?) That prevented him playing the cup final.
  12. Can you define technical ability please? (That isn't meant to be arsey btw. Just curious...) Cause I completely disagree he is a technically good footballer. His passing and shooting and crossing are all average at best - which are elements that I consider to be technical. Even his dribbling isn't exactly that skillful. His best tools are his acceleration and his penalty taking.
  13. Need to sell early and buy early, or simply buy early and run the risk of points deductions until we sell.
  14. Semenyo went for just over 60million. Night and day them two at present. Then you look at Elanga too and he was also bought for similar and has been even worse than Gordon. Least his attitude isn't honking.
  15. Probably Miley too. Not much to base it on but I feel Gordon is a disruptive influence behind the scenes.
  16. I mean Tonali and Bruno and Hall are all pretty high calibre, but if we're talking just strikers then that's fair. I just thought it was a strikers job to score goals and a wingers job to create and score. He's rarely done either from open play.
  17. Gordon will apply himself at his new club and have a good first season then as soon as things don't go his way he'll revert to type I.e. getting in his own head, thinking he's elite when he isn't (by footballer standards), blaming others, kicking off, not tracking back, being greedy, etc. You can count on one hand Gordon's "Good" games this last year (from the Carabao Cup Final) to now. He's by and large been average to poor.

They're down these like imo. All the signs are there.
  19. I hope you enjoy your new hoop.
  20. Howe will be at Barca in 5 years with Lewis Hall playing as a 10 and winning multiple cups.
  21. Later in his career I'd imagine. Once he's won the treble with Liverpool...
  22. England is far more likely for Howe and I'd imagine he'd be the one to break the curse. See NUFC 2025 and the plethora of English players we've had and improved and got a tune out of. Don't have players fucking off for a more fanciable country either.
