Just got mine. Good job I downloaded a Magpie Mover application form from the net a week or so ago. -
80s isn't recent history? But the point is, what me and you think about history is irrelevant, and saying that Newcastle is a more attractive proposition than either Spurs or Everton in Turkey because of our history is entirely questionable.

Considering that both Spurs and Everton have substantially stronger histories than us I find this hard to believe. Really, if we are interested in signing the kid the only plausible advantage I can see us having over those two teams is the fact that Emre's here. They both have a few more trophies then us, hardly substantial (unless you're going to include Charity Shields ) Everton have played more seasons in the top flight of English football than any other club and are the only team in the country to have won a major trophy in every single decade since the formation of the league. Were it not for Heysel, Everton could have dominated English football in the late '80s in a manner similar to Liverpool during the '70s/early '80s. Tottenham were the first team to do the League/F.A Cup double in the 20th century and have won 9 major trophies (3 F.A Cups, 4 League Cups and 2 UEFA Cups) since the last time we lifted a bloody pot worth pissing in. Both teams have won more trophies than us, and also can look back onto important periods of league dominance in this country which we would have to look back to just after the Edwardian era to be able to do something similar.

Just realistic, really. Either way, I'm not particularly arsed about the deal and it seems the club isn't, either. Two weeks ago I'd never heard of the player and, if no deal was to materialise I've got no doubt that the new scouting network are already looking at other possibilities for the position.

They really won't.

You're pretty much asking for trouble ordering from a website which has Nike, Adidas and Reebok logos at the top of the page which are laughably fake. Well at least you can paint the house in it, or something.

Frankly, if I had enough money to buy a football club I'd then try to do my utmost to keep the club financially stable without having a sponsor at all. A football strip looks so much more classy without one.

I'm sick of my seat in the East Stand like, tried to move at the beginning of last season but most options were removed because of loads of ST sales on the back of the Allardyce/Ashley news. I'm still not in as bad a situation as my old man though - moved by the club from an amazing seat in the middle of the Milburn when they were extending and put somewhere shite in the East Stand instead. Bugger had even forked out for a bond, as well.

He's no Ned. I didn't join in, but I could understand people booing him.

Went to the Bodega after the match and saw a few lads getting some stuff like pieces of wood out of a skip that was outside the Tyne Theatre and then legging it round the corner of Tilleys'. Seemed like it was all kicking off around there, but didn't see anything. Then went to the Bridge afterwards and the whole route along the way was full of bizzies; had a few pints there and then there were still shit loads of bizzies hanging around outside of Central Station when I was going back to get the Metro. Fuck knows what was going on like.

From Phil Ball's excellent Morbo: Not related to any particular football story, but Bilbao, and the Basque country in general, is a fantastic place. The people are some of the friendliest you'll ever meet and the beauty of San Sebastian is breathtaking.

Be Malmaison I would have thought. Was staying there over the weekend and was leaving to go the pub when the Pompey team coach pulled up outside. Managed to say thanks to Harry for turning us down before a swarm of paparazzi and David Craig descended on him.

Wait, what? Referring to Ramos and his impact at Spurs. It's no surprise they are looking the part under Ramos. Ashley will have taken note. Yeah, I was well aware that you were referring to Ramos' arrival at Spurs, I just fail to see how he's been an 'instant success'. He's done a good job since taking over there, as long as you disregard the small matter of the organistion of defence at set pieces.

They reached the semi-final in 2004, thankfully getting knocked out by those nice boys from Millwall. e:f;b

Great achievement, that.
