    Transfer rumours

The keeper must be a permanent deal as we can only sign 2 players (Slimani, Kenedy) on loan, no?
  3. Definitely a new company linked to Staveley when you look at other companies that have been registered to the same address: https://suite.endole.co.uk/explorer/postcode/w1k-7ae About thirty seconds from my office. Going to start hanging around outside on lunch

Pretty weird that your name is the twitter handle of an obscure rock band formed in 2010 by the mackem in YCNI:M and The Automatic...
  7. I fucking hate the guy, but having sadly squandered several hours watching select committee 'performances', this is actually one of the better ones. His stupidity can easily be mistaken for honesty and the committee are going easy on him because he is admitting a degree of liability. Normally you get people desperately trying to avoid the question and change the angle to put out their agenda, which results in those questioning being far harsher. All that said, I've only watched the last 20 minutes or so, may have been a car crash before that.
  8. Can someone ensure that rtg see that Liam's little brother has posted on the donations page asking for them to attend on Monday.

    Loïc Remy

All seems rather dramatic to me. I'll wager any one of the doom mongers on here £50 to the SBR foundation we spend several million pounds on a striker this window. For all Ashley's PR disasters we have had 3 successful seasons on the pitch on the trot (defined in the respect that we would taken the outcome had we been offered it before a ball had been kicked on each occasion). This season has gone tits up but there is plenty still to play for, our squad has players coming back and the fixture list is looking kinder. Ashley knows the only way we maintain any value is by maintaining our PL status ahead of the new tv deal and by keeping the gates where they are now. He spent more than most in jan in the championship and again last year. The only time we have been net sellers in jan was the relegation year which would have burned him and the sale of Andy Carroll which was absolutely an exception that he rightly couldn't resist. I dislike him as much as the next fan but my read is that since his initial series of clusterfucks he has irritatingly got things right more often than wrong. I don't think this is entirely down to luck, although admittedly some huge slices fell our way prior to this season. So, money where mouth is, £50 to SBR foundation if you think we won't get a striker this January. Happy to take bet from up to 5 people so will lay £250 that we do. Lets see if you naysayers really believe your negative hype

    Joey Barton

Way out of his depth but was hugely led. It's no David James getting merked sadly
  11. Thank Christ most Liverpool fans aren't like you... Would be nowhere near this much fun
  12. May have been posted already, apologies if so, but thought this was great from the Leeds fans last night, around 3 minutes or so when it just becomes a wall of noise. Wondering if this is where the scarves idea has been picked up from, would certainly be pretty spine tingling hearing the whole of St James' Park like this, scarves or not... http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/leeds-fans-gary-speed-chant-%28taken-from-the-forest-end%29-15755497/ (assuming this type of video doesn't breach rules, apologies if so)
  13. I'd just like to say for the record, the thread title was edited to that by me because at the time the news broke most people were unaware of the circumstances of his death. No disrespect was intended and I apologise if anyone found it offensive. Don't think anyone thought any different. Was right title at time and was then the right time to change. Still struggling with this, just does not compute
  14. Aye. It's known as a Tory government. Better than being date raped by nu labour
  15. Thats the rub of it, even the scouser i work with says the players were a disgrace toward the end of Roys job there, he reckoned Roy lost the players but not so sure myself. To be honest, for all the league position chat over what is and isn't realistic, all I really want is to finish above these cunts. Makes me small time, bitter and probably over ambitious and unrealistic, but it'd be fucking ace
  16. Very true, my interest was piqued by the hypothetical rather than ranger. I genuinely do think most people have had a scrap at some point in their teens or so when they have technically assaulted someone or committed abh by the very strict definition, or had it happen to them. Seems I'm possibly wrong and for the record this isn't an attempt to be the hardman as it were, I've taken the hiding rather than dished it out!
  17. Ranger didn't break the lads jaw. Ah, my mistake. Sure the press had it as that originally? Should have got wireside on the case?
  18. I don't think 95% on here have knocked someone unconscious and broke their jaw though. That said, pretty similar to what Carroll did to one of our own and we cheered him and sang songs about it

    Sunderland...

Sure it's been mentioned but whilst wireside is a proper fucking weirdo, our lot on rtg are pretty fucking embarassing at the minute. It's their forum, give them some abuse by all means but continuous average trolling? Bah, it's rubbish, thought our lot were a lot better than that
  20. PRL

    Sunderland...

Sunderland haven't banned him from every pub in his home town, the landlords of the pubs and clubs in Stockton-on-Tees have banned him from visiting their establishments. thats what he said. I don't get it The OP doesn't say Sunderland banned him, he said Sunderland made Cattermole their club captain despite the fact he's banned from all the pubs in Stockton, and that says a lot about them (i.e. they are happy to have someone who is pretty widely acknowledged as a massive cunt as their club captain).
  21. Threads and responses like this are the reason this is the only toon forum I bother with. Cheers lads
  22. Around £350m in Europe from £1.4bn global total ex-UK. Worth £2bn in UK alone.
  23. Likely option is Sky (or the Premier League itself) would buy all European rights then sub-license through Europe, but they would do this based on selectively choosing those countries where interest is high enough that they can drive a higher price and thus there's less risk of them then selling decoders, etc. back to the UK cheaply.
  24. Yep, everyone relocated to Cock and Lion after Barley Mow landlord packed it in. Pretty sure it was the Barley Mow where Lee Clark was photoed in the SMB shirt. Watched us against Lillestrom there I think in the intertoto just after I moved to London, was a great little pub.
  25. Cock and Lion on wigmore street for Sky / ESPN games, Famous 3 Kings off west kensington tube for all 3pm kick offs / non-sky televised. Worth phoning first but they have 90% of the games there (and actually have some kind of special licence to show these, or so they tell me - they certainly publicise showing them quite extensively)
