This still doesn't seem real. When I woke up this morning I thought I initially thought I'd dreamt the whole thing. Really struggling to understand why he'd do such a thing.

I'm never sure about retiring numbers. I do agree that something permanent should be done by the club though, like naming an area within the stadium after Speed, making a placard for him or even a statue somewhere? He was a fantastic servant to our club and needs to be commemorated accordingly.

Or he was just depressed. Very difficult to spot when someone's depressed, people are unlikely to openly admit they need help. I imagine he has been depressed for a while and something, possibly quite miniscule, happened last night that was just the final straw. But yeah, difficult to imagine someone as mature and level-headed as him with so much going for him doing something like this.

He was a guest in the studio. Seemed his level-headed self, articulated his views on the show very well indeed.

Yesterday I woke up, turned on the tv and was delighted to see Gary Speed on Football focus. I remember thinking what a handsome, healthy man he looked. Today I turned on the tv, went on teletext, and saw the top story "Wales manager Gary Speed..." I thought oh no, he's not resigned has he? I must have read the headline about three times before I realised what it was saying. Really sad news, almost inconceivable that he could have done something like this. He seemed so full of life on FF and had so much going for him. RIP
