  1. Ritchie, at least, is very unlikely to be in the Champions League squad though.
  2. Aye, it's embarrassingly anachronistic.
  3. The issue is that our current spending power within FFP is based on the past seasons' profits/losses, we might well be near the point where even with transfer fees being amortised over 5 years we couldn't afford the proportion of the amortised fee that would count towards this season, even if we will be able to afford that in the future based on our increased income.
  4. Yeah, where I looked had it at €60m, seems like it's reported as €55m elsewhere though.
  5. Based on what? Nearly all of our signings since the takeover have been players who are on another level from what we had.
  6. He might have some different attributes but we already have ASM and Gordon who naturally play in that left side attacking position and Joelinton, Willock and Isak who have been keeping them out of the starting line-up. I know we need squad depth but, unless ASM is leaving, it seems like we would be very overloaded in that position.
  7. Yes but I don't think there's any advantage to that if we don't absolutely need to, only the disadvantage of having the amortisation on the books for a year longer.
  8. Yes, but unless we're currently perilously close to failing FFP there's probably no advantage in waiting because the amortisation would count towards the FFP calculation for a year longer.
  9. He's a handsome fucker too, has a bit of Schär about him, we could be the tallest and fittest team in the world potentially.
  10. The 25 man A list needs to include at least 4 locally trained players, so in reality we will need to put him in the A list squad.
  11. For the PL yes but for the CL the 25 man squad has to include 4 players who have been at the club for at least 3 years between 15 and 21. Other than him the only players we have in the first team squad that qualify are Longstaff and Anderson and Dummett (and that's almost certainly why Dummett is still at the club).
  12. We need 4 home grown players for our Champions League squad, if he's good enough to play a part in that squad he's too valuable to let go on loan, home grown status is literally something that you can't buy.
  13. I would've loved Everton to go down but quite enjoyed seeing Leicester go by two points after the way they played against us.
  14. Surely we much be top of the woodwork hitting league?!
  15. Definitely used as a derogatory term for gay women north of the Tyne too in the 80s/90s. No idea it was just a local thing either.
  16. Aye, that was just bizarre, he scored his first PL goal for his home town club in a crucial match for CL qualification, what did they expect?
  17. Just been perusing the match thread on their forum, they're an arrogant lot for a club that had never finished in the top half of the top division before last season.
  18. I was so convinced it was offside and going to be ruled out by VAR I didn't celebrate, I thought 'I'll wait for the VAR check' but it didn't happen just an odd gradual realisation that it wasn't going to be ruled off I got to celebrate properly not long after though
  19. I don't think that's correct, having read the PLs rules any transaction a club makes can be determined to be a associated party transaction and above fair market value.
  20. It wouldn't, any transaction the club makes of £1m or more has to be approved by the PL. And before anyone says 'well just sell 30 at £999,999', the PL still have the ability within the rules to determine that they are related party transactions at above fair market value, being below £1m just means they don't have to be pre-approved.
  21. Nope, all deals of £1m or more have to be approved by the PL.
