Their big problem is they just can't seem to win six pointers.

The rules require that he is removed as a director (i.e. the club is sold) within 28 days, if not the club can be suspended from the league. Btw, the reason for his disqualification will be this, because of the sanctions, rather than directly due to his links to Putin: A Person shall be disqualified from acting as a Director and no Club shall be permitted to have any Person acting as a Director of that Club if: F.1.6. he/she becomes prohibited by law from being a director...

Chelsea vs. Newcastle United: 13/03/2022 @ 14:00 (Sky)

28,000 season tickets apparently, but it won't affect our match with them because the most/all of the match tickets will probably have been sold already. -
Bruce is the only swinger amongst them?
-
Getting a bit off topic, my point was that the Saudi-led intervention in the civil war in Yemen isn't equivalent to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The response to that isn't indicative of some kind of change in policy towards conflicts in general and when sanctions will be imposed.
-
Well he did deliver them their highest league finish in the past 20 years, which was their third highest in the past 65 years. Imagine having to support a club where the highest achieving managers of your modern era have been Steve Bruce and Peter Reid

It's not something that's going to be explicitly said but that's the fundamental reason. NATO countries can't get directly involved in a conventional war with Russia because of the threat of nuclear war, the only real weapon we have is sanctions.
-
What a fucking result!!!!

The Wolves match on the nufc.co.uk radio stream
-
Whilst the human cost of both is terrible, ultimately that is not the reason for these sanctions, the reason is that with the threat of nuclear response if we get involved in the conflict, it is the only weapon we have. We are literally facing the potential of WW3, nuclear annihilation of civilisation is being threatened by Putin. It's not a contest, but if it were, nothing trumps that in terms of immorality.
-
It's not inconsistent, Russia have invaded a neighbouring state while holding a loaded nuclear gun the the head of the western world. There is no equivalent to that since the second world war. The intervention in the civil war in Yemen has our tacit support and is essentially a proxy war against Iran. As terrible as it is, it is not equivalent to the invasion of Ukraine.

Their future would probably at Spurs / Arsenal's level, which is hardly awful, with us eventually replacing them in their regular top 4 spot.

Although I'm not being serious, not a peep out of Jamie since the story of him being interested came out on Tuesday and the guy that wrote the story is followed by both Jamie and Mehrdad on twitter.

What really comes across in STID is the way their fans instantly and viciously turn the moment things aren't going their way and how much that affects the players. I know we can be guilty of that too, but it seems on a different level there and I think it's one of the main causes of where they are.

Coincidentally, I've just bought this book called Brutal North for a mate who likes a bit of the old brutalism, I was flicking through it and found this:
-
Wood had improved us, yes, no disagreement from me. Weghorst has also improved Burnley. Both can be true.
-
It hasn't weakened Burnley, it seemed to galvanise them and Weghorst instantly looked an upgrade on Wood. They looked dead and buried before that and now they have a very good chance of survival. So far it's turned out well for both clubs and that could potentially turn out gloriously badly for Leeds or Everton.

He was signed in desperation at a point where things were looking incredibly grim for us and he's played a part in our transformation. £25m was a ridiculous amount of money for him, everyone knew that, but it will be more than paid back if we stay up, which we might have been in serious danger of had we not had his presence in our season changing scraped win against Leeds and since then. Maybe we could've got someone better if we'd been more patient, or maybe it would have gone the way of Lingard and Ekitike on deadline day and we'd now be facing almost certain relegation because we would not have had this run without a presence up front.

Historic England and there's more to it than just whether a building looks attractive.
-
Not really, I'm pretty confident in that statement, from a position of known competence.
-
I'd respectfully say you don't have a clue what you're talking about. People with the actual qualifications, knowledge and experience to assess these things have a very different view. As someone who is perhaps more qualified than most on this forum to give a view on this, it is a stunning example of Georgian architecture and of obvious significant heritage value. It has been a listed building since the 1950s and is Grade I listed, which puts it in the top 2.5% of significance of all listed buildings.

Digging down would only help if there is unnecessary space around the pitch or the pitch size can be reduced, there isn't and our pitch is already the minimum PL size, and safe standing doesn't increase capacity.

On the opposite end of the spectrum I love the Milburn Level 7, bang in the middle. In some ways it's quite detached but walking out after climbing all of those stairs and seeing the whole stadium and city below you is awe inspiring.
