And the owners financially ruined the club attempting to do that, at a time where our owner didn't give a fuck.

"£170m of their losses caused by covid" apparently. Their matchday income is about £15m per season

Our budget for January was reported to be only £50m, there is clearly a big element of downplaying what we can/will spend. I doubt there is a budget as such, if the right deals for players we want are on the money will be there for them.

Essentially they're just the same a crypto currency but with value linked to the demand for the individual NFT rather than the demand for the whole currency, the images are just a identifier. Ultimately, the value is just what people are willing to pay for something that has no inherent value. People only value them because other people might value them higher. But really that is just a transfer of money from one person to another with no real value. Essentially all money is only a token of exchange for work. If £10 sits in someone's pocket for a year it has produced no work in that time, if it is exchanged every day it produces thousands of pounds of work. real value only comes when there is circulation of currency that results in some kind of transfer of goods or services.

Burnley vs. Newcastle United: 22/05/22 @ 4pm (No UK TV)

Unfortunately, I can't see Burnley beating Villa away when they have just been comfortably beaten them at home. -
Fuck the sky 'big 6' cartel, we're coming to crash your party.
-
Best performance since the Robson era. Just fucking sensational. What a night, what a club!
-
If Burnley stay up they'll go down in 20th next season, guaranteed.
-
100%, players shouldn't get away with clear shirt pulling still in the age of VAR. Instead they just turn a blind eye 99% of the time.
-
I don't think there's an issue with it in that circumstance. If a defender has their arm out like that an the ball hits it they can't have any complaints.
-
No because FFP is assessed on profit/loss, it wouldn't make any difference to the profit/loss.

Really? He's done a good job at Brentford but it's hardly unusual for a newly promoted team to finish mid-table in their first season (only to then struggle in the following season). The way Howe has turned us around is actually exceptional, as is what Pep has achieved and he probably should and will win it.
-
I remember there being speculation that it was some kind of rolling yearly contract, saying "long-term", conspicuously without a specific term, suggests something like that.
-
Looking back at the reports it's clear that he handed in his notice and so, yes, that (to stay at Brighton) wouldn't be in his hands. Although he is still employed by them, they haven't employed a replacement yet and if we don't know for certain whether he has actually signed a contract with us or, if he has, what the terms are. But, it is unusual that this hasn't been sorted out given the amount of managerial staff that move about in football without extended periods of gardening leave like this. Obviously it could just be down to Brighton making that choice, and if that's the case we'll have to just wait. We'll find out in the coming weeks / months.
-
Gardening leave can be for any reason, it doesn't have to be that specific circumstance, and during gardening leave you are still employed by that employer. It absolutely makes sense that he would not want to commit himself to the job until he knows what division we are in next season and/or vice versa. My point is that managerial staff move around in football all of the time without there being extended periods of gardening leave of massive fees, there is likely to be something else at play here. We'll see pretty soon if it's waiting for confirmation of our PL status has been that thing.
-
Surely you can't know that unless you've seen his employment contract. Also, managers and other staff have that sort of knowledge and move between clubs all of the time with little or no compensation or delay. It makes more sense that he's said to Brighton that he's decided to join us subject to us being in the PL next season (either down to him and/or us) and so they immediately put him on gardening leave.

Bo Thompson's on for Wolves.
-
On this showing we didn't do too badly on Sunday.
-
And we've got that part spot on with our signings so far.
-
PL FFP hasn't changed in any way that would affect that, and they've set a precedent of very light touch enforcement with Everton. UEFA FFP has changed but that should allow us to spend more than it previously would have.

Wood doing his best to prove ASM's point. -
No worse than Burnley's; Spurs away, Villa away (who just comfortably beat them at home) then us. They've had their caretaker manager bounce and won't get anything out of their next two. I could definitely see Leeds getting something from Chelsea at home.
