  1. Yeah, there was a post saying he'd arrived at Newcastle airport I think.
  2. I don't know what to make of all this tbh. Still not clear what's gone on at all.
  3. Took Monaco to the Champions' League Final and a league title, got Juventus back into Serie A.
  4. Gutted. Absolutely gutted. Everything was looking so promising and then it goes right down the pan. And we've lost an absolute legend of a manager. I refuse to believe anyone's at fault until the facts are in front of me though. Even with all the tension and anger it's still a bit irrational to want to sack the board or blame Keegan for going back on what he signed up for. I just hope now that Ashley has the nouce to bring in a sound replacement cultured in the style of modern management. This or we are truly fucked tbh.
  5. Wise and Jimenez are very good friends apparently, wouldn't be surprised to see one leave if the other does. I think the main man behind it all is actually Vetere. He might not be the main broker behind each deal but from what I've seen so far he's done a damn fine job of identifying proven talent. If he stays alongside Keegan I'd be very very happy.
  6. As brilliant as this news is, I really hope he hasn't walked.
  7. Just got back from school to hear this. Devastated. What the fuck is Ashley thinking? Things were really beginning to pick up as well and yet now we're back to being just a simple fucking joke of a club. Fuck's sake.
  8. Bit disappointed that we haven't got a left back or a replacement for Milner tbh but certainly pleased by the calibur of player we've brought in this summer. Coloccini, Guthrie and Jonas all look excellent and Xisco sounds like a quality signing with a fair future ahead of him. We could be alot worse off and hey, maybe the Xisco and Gonzalez deals are being announced as a taster for a big signing later on...
  9. Hard to say. The problem with our strikeforce is that Owen, Martins and Viduka are all decent but injury prone and the covering strikers we have at the club (Smith and Ameobi) simply aren't good enough. Viduka is our only viable option as a targetman but he's always injured and Xisco would be able to bring out the best of Martins and Owen playing off him on a more consistent basis. We need some quality depth to the team and Xisco seems to tick the boxes. I'd like to think that Keegan's bringing Xisco in as Viduka's eventual successor who will probably leave in the summer and allow us to go back to 4-3-3 with Martins and Owen playing off him. It would make a fair bit of sense with him being young and clearly having alot of potential to have him act as an understudy to Viduka and fill in when needed and eventally oust him from the first team. I reckon he'll get some games before Viduka returns, drop to the bench when he does but be regular as a sub and will play in the cup comps this season. Next season, where Viduka is likely to bugger off, Xisco will likely be a first team regular.
  10. Fits the bill perfectly, great stuff That said, feel a bit sorry for the poor Depor fans..
  11. It's been extended by 24 hours so it closes at midnight.
  12. You don't play for Monaco and Valencia without having something going for you though surely. Well worth a punt on a loan.
  13. Lennon came on for Spurs today, perhaps ruling out a move?
  14. Was Atouba not a staple in a decent Hamburg side who were regularly in the UEFA Cup and Champions' League? He could well have matured a fair bit since his Spurs days and I think it's seriously unfair to judge him on one season in a new and difficult league.
  15. I don't think even MON can grant Milner a decent turn of pace (or the ability to cross into the box). One of their coaches, John Robertson I think, is supposed to be excellent at coaching wingers and is partly responsible for Ashley Young's development as a player.
  16. We can't sign anyone on monday, Shirley? (Unless they're a free agent of course, but how many of them would "shock the world"?) Monday's the last day.
  17. Arsenal were different class today, would have thrashed anyone today tbh. Wasn't the worst I've seen us play by a long stretch, thought we played some lovely stuff in a few instances like the build-up to Zog blazing that free-kick and still creating a handful of quality chances. Losing Jose really is a kick to the teeth though, really hope he's back for Hull despite Bassong looking competent. Given -8; Was excellent today Beye - 5; Couple of excellent challenges but not frequent enough. Looks unfit. Taylor - 5; Good in the air but hesitated when it mattered (Denilson's goal, just completely stood off him I felt). Exposed frequently by simply quality opposition. Coloccini - 6; Another decent display. Caught in possession for one of the goals but won loads of tackles and made several crucial blocks. Enrique - 7; Was the pick of the bunch in the first half, stood his ground well and combined with Zog smoothly. Real shame to see him go off. Bassong - 6; Nothing spectacular but displayed good composure and made no mistakes. Jonas - 7; Tireless and always looked threatening. Had a tough time against Clichy but took his opportunities well and put in a couple of quality crosses. Guthrie - 7; Good vision and feet as per usual. Looked every bit as good as Nasri and Denilson I felt. Butt - 6; Generally solid with a few poor touches and misplaced passes. Industrious as ever and strong in the tackle but often gives away possession needlessly. N'Zogbia - 6; Delivery was very poor but always looked a threat with the ball at his feet. Will improve. Owen - 6; Didn't quite happen for him today. His positional awareness excelled at times and peeled away from Gallas and Toure effortlessly on a couple of occasions. Had a few nice touches and was unlucky not to score but for Shola. That said, got little of the ball and simply didn't pose much of a threat. Ameobi - 5; Thought he looked alright on the ball but off it he had a real shocker; defensively inept under heavy responsibility in marking Gallas and just looked really clumsy and off the pace. Just as well we're playing Hull next week hopefully with Martins back and a few new faces through the door. Very disappointed today with the resutl and performance but I doubt there's little you can do when Arsenal play like that.
  18. If we have to use those three, I'd rather keep Colo at CB and put Taylor out to the right. Same here Bassong can play right back can't he? His pace would maybe make him a better option. He's left footed. Ah

  20. Is Lua-Lua fit? Might be worth giving him a go either on the right or just off Owen.
  21. Who will play alongside Owen if Jonas will be on the right?
