  1. Pellegrini is at least on a par with Rafa IMHO.
  2. Supposed to have held talks with De Boer and Pellegrini already, followed by Emery in the next few days. Rumour is that Koeman is still the number one target though. I'd be happy with Emery or Koeman. Not so much the other two. Imagine being an Everton fan and turning your nose up at Frank De Boer and Manuel Pellegrini. I'll have what you're having fella... From what I've read of De Boer, he had a Ronny Deila-esque European record with Ajax, he plays Van Gaal-esque s*** football and his own fans are glad to see the back of him. He also wouldn't be able to bring the only decent coaches from his backroom staff with him. No thanks. As for Pellegrini, we've just got rid of a soft touch who couldn't get the best out of his players, couldn't organise the defence and couldn't change his tactics. Why bring in a manager who had all the same faults at City? He's a big name but I think he'd do a poor job. Pellegrini got to the latter stages of the Champions League with two clubs of a similar type to Everton ffs What? Malaga and Villarreal I'm guessing? Pellegrini would be a fantastic appointment for Everton. The comparisons with Martinez are pretty ridiculous IMO, even if they may share some of the same tactical weaknesses (although Pellegrini is very capable of changing his tactics IMO). Pellegrini's CV alone blows Roberto's completely out of the water and the City/Everton jobs are completely incomparable in terms of pressure, expectation and having to manage, motivate and cater to the needs of high-end players. The suggestion that Pellegrini isn't good enough for a mid-table PL team (although with the potential to finish top six) because he had an underwhelming last couple of years at Man City really needs some perspective. It's almost akin to us turning our nose up at Rafa because he tanked at Madrid and Inter, was so-so at Napoli, only finished 7th in his last season at Liverpool, has no experience in the Championship etc etc.
  3. Have to say that the timing of the leak is in pretty bad taste. LVG's apparently going on in his post-match presser about transfers for next season!
  4. Telegraph reporting that Maureen will be appointed as Man Utd manager next week.
  5. Martial and Rashford wearing Ronaldo's old France '98 boots, class.
  6. Murphy can do one by the way. Fellaini's been one of Man Utd's better players over their cup run.
  7. They've not been that bad like. Palace have more or less parked the bus and they simply haven't made any of their openings count yet.
  8. 2-2, Hibs equalise. Been a good game this!
  9. Daniel Agger linked in Marca apparently.

According to the Secret Footballer, Norwich are not in a good place financially. Firesale incoming.

Problem with Carroll is that he needs service from wide areas in order to be effective. England don't play with orthodox wingers anymore and, even out of the current crop, Milner is the only one who stands out as someone who can cross the ball with any quality. Too unsuited to the current system IMO.

  14. to us? No sorry, Rangers from what I saw, just asking could he be an option? Absolutely. He's a class above the Championship, let alone the SPL. Would think he'll have plenty of PL clubs willing to take him on loan mind.

Why the Milner hate? He's been class for Liverpool since Klopp took over.

Delph, Rashford and Barkley/Wilshere will be facing the chop out of that lot IMO.
  18. Class today. Shame he couldn't get on the score sheet, looked desperate for a goal.
  19. That's a shocking tackle to be fair.
  20. Extenuating circumstances to be fair. Oscar Garcia, who they brought in originally to replace Sannino, resigned weeks into the job due to a heart condition. Then there was the admittedly bizarre 'non-appointment' of Billy McKinley after the Pozzos had a sudden change of heart and sacked him after a day. Jokanovic was then in charge for most of the season but allegedly demanded an obscene pay rise for getting Watford promoted - the Pozzos promptly told him to jog on. So yeah, the 3-4 manager thing looks worse than it is IMO - Garcia and Jokanovic would've stayed on for longer if the Pozzos had their way.

The one thing you need in the Championship is a little bit of quality, the standard's generally crap. Our current squad of bottlers would walk it. I think if you look at the teams we put out in promotion season - especially the first half of it -you'll agree that we basically had a team (with exceptions) of grafters with hints of quality. In attack, especially, you won't get anywhere unless the quality is compounded with experience and a pair of bollocks. It's not like the Premier League. Defenders in the football league will f***ing eat Mitrovic alive, for example. yep totally agree the people who say Mitrovic will be a beast in the championship need to give their head a shake. The clogger centre half will eat him up for breakfast look at the championships top strikers recently Deeney, ings,Vokes,Rhodes,Austin,Vardy, Wilson,Oghalo, Gray all of these absolutely streets ahead of mitrovic he will struggle like f*** in the division imo need to get rid of him asap How many goals have Vokes, Gray, Wilson and Rhodes scored in the Premier League like? Mitro, for all his faults, has got 8 in a shite team and hasn't started every game this season, being benched for McClaren's first couple of games and obviously for much of Rafa's recent spell. He's also only 21.
  22. Allardyce played for the Mackems as well didn't he?
