  1. Not sure if that dummy was deliberate mind. Thought he just misjudged the pass at first glance.

    Steve McClaren

Didn't Van Gaal - by all accounts a very autocratic-style coach - receive a lot of praise for consulting Robben, Sneijder, Van Persie and the like about Holland's system before the World Cup?
  3. The one time Man Utd actually play half decent
  4. The persecution complex is strong in this one. Buddy, Ayoze was the least of our problems against Palace and Leicester when our entire f***ing midfield was non existent. Bearing in mind Ayoze plays behind rather than alongside the striker, should he not shoulder some of the blame for our abysmal midfield given that it's his job to help out to an extent? By contrast, De Jong more or less played the same role at the weekend and made a decent contribution towards possession, pressing, winning the ball back and the like. I'm a huge fan of Ayoze for the record but I think it's very generous to call him the least of our problems recently - he's been poor the last couple of games.
  5. Thought that was Steve Harper there in the flowery jacket for a mo
  6. We've been poor on the ball generally speaking but good off of it for a change.
  7. Colback man. Gave Dummett absolutely nothing to work with there.

In light of Klopp's recent comments about Sturridge - him not knowing 'true pain' etc - could the same sort of logic be applied to this lad? Just doesn't fancy it if he's feeling anything short of 100%?

    Steve McClaren

Has to go - patently obvious that he's lost the players. A shame really; Steve and his coaching staff all seem like good blokes and they'd probably do quite well at a club with a normal set of players. Unfortunately he's well out of his depth with this fragmented mess of young, overrated players from the continent that we've thrown together over the last 2 seasons. Suppose the real question is who wouldn't struggle in the same circumstances?

    Steve McClaren

Agreed. It's all well and good having rows with your players but if you don't have the balls to drop them then the words start to ring hollow. If Colo's not doing the business then get Lascelles or Dummett in there and show you mean business. For a while I could understand (and I thought too) that it was just a matter of time before McClaren had us keeping the ball better and everything would click into place. But I think it's pretty clear now that a few heads have dropped and that's not going to happen. Sometimes you just need to make a couple of changes, even if the alternative players are worse on paper. Garde has dropped Grealish from the Villa team and banished him to train with the U-21 team as punishment for breaking club rules and going to a nightclub after their defeat last weekend. He's also refused to accept Steve Round as part of his backroom staff and changed the diet of the first team squad, the majority of whom he says are happy to accept the changes. It's not necessarily going to keep them up, but he's hardly been a week in the job and he's showing signs of leadership and stating out loud that the team needs firm direction. With so many of our squad going through the motions, I'd say that we could do with a similar approach. Didn't McClaren ban swearing and impose a strict lateness policy at the start of the season?
  11. Load of bollocks that Alli got a yellow for that and all tbh.
  12. Why? He just kicked out at Kane for absolutely no reason. Totally unprovoked, obviously no attempt to play the ball. I'd put my house on Janmaat or Coloccini being sent off for the same offence.
