We were much better in the second half - arguably as good as we've been this season (obviously not saying much mind) - but we are so chronically sluggish coming out of the blocks. Colback offers no protection whatsoever to the backline and was nowhere to be seen for their second goal. I actually thought Thauvin was one of our better players today, alongside Janmaat, Sissoko and Wijnaldum in the second half. Cisse is just a waste of a shirt these days, pathetic display once again.

Colback aside that's a fairly encouraging line-up. It was imperative to move Wijnaldum deeper and get either Perez or De Jong in further forward to support Cisse. I'd have kept Anita in the side personally but I'm certainly a bit more optimistic about the match than I was this morning.

He played most pre season games and was on the bench for the Southampton game and every game since, how fit do you want the lad to be? He had a chance to impress against Northampton and didn't take it.

Celtic 1-1 with Ajax at the moment. Really like that Younes lad for Ajax on the left wing, was really impressive for Germany in the U21s over the summer. Skins players for fun.

I was always under the impression that 'keeping things ticking' was simply about keeping the ball moving and feeding the more creative players with short passes. It's a phrase/cliché/however you feel about it more suited to a water-carrier type midfielder than a deep-lying playmaker. Along those lines, I don't think it's too bad a description for Anita tbh. I could well be just talking shite however.
