  1. I think it's Gini behind Mitrovic by the way - same team as against Arsenal according to McClaren.

  3. Going to take a punt on Payet and Costa for next week I think.
  4. Mitro's movement for the headed chance against Everton was excellent - pointed out where he wanted the cross, got the run on the defender and made good contact with the ball. Obviously should've hit the target but everything else was good centre-forward play.
  5. He seemed to have been given a bit more license to get forward alongside Tiote and looked a bit better for it. Was slightly less anonymous than usual.
  6. West Ham. West Ham aren't exactly short on strikers mind; Sakho, Valencia, Carroll, Zarate, Jelavic off the top of my head. Palace will be the one surely.
  7. Another midfielder to try and fit in Not if they sack off Nasri (which they should - Isco's a much better player). Might also be with Silva's age in mind.

    Steve McClaren

Would probably help if he had some subs worth bringing on to be fair.
  9. Was he? Possibly at one stage, but he only signed for £6-7 mill or so, a relatively modest fee for what was supposedly one of the most promising centre backs in the world at the time. The fact that Zabaleta was an Argentine international doesn't automatically make him some obvious buy either - Jonas was an international when we signed him and only a handful on here had any idea of how good he was iirc. Not denying that Hughes signed plenty of dross at Man City and QPR when given what was effectively financial carte blanche in either case, but on a budget he's a pretty shrewd operator I'd say.
  10. Is he responsible for their recruitment? Hughes has got a decent eye for a player to be fair. Brought Zabaleta and Kompany to City, signed Dembele when he was at Fulham too iirc.
  11. Can't see is going for Cole like. That's just what I've been told Been strongly linked with Villa and all iirc.
  12. He was part of the problem there though, he wasn't chasing anything. Mitrovic put him to shame in terms of chasing lost causes and going after a game we looked like we'd be well out of early doors. I'm not saying run about like an absolute spacca but he seemed to cut ties with the game once we'd had a dodgy start. Like I say I wouldn't be surprised if he was off soon, the way he was moping about. Even his passing was rank.
  13. Arnt you the guy that usually says that stats don't matter They're not the whole story. Luckily I watched it as well. People totally forgetting how many saves Elliott made. As much as I agree with you, if he lets any of them in (bar possibly the header) they're errors. Majority were routine stops from outside the area.
  14. Why not? We were awful attacking wise and they weren't. Arguably created the two best chances of the game. Everton played the more attractive football but certainly in terms of work rate and chances created (surely the barometer for an attacking display) we matched them today.
