I thought he played well against Birmingham and areet against Blackburn. Didn't set the world on fire but some neat touches and a few great tackles spring to mind. His vocal leadership is invaluable, though.
I reckon the higher we finish up the table this season the better chance we have of keeping him. IMO he could still be convinced to sign a new deal if we end the season brightly and promise new signings in the summer. Could even offer to sell him the summer after once he's signed if we either don't bring in new players or fail to build on this season.
I said we should try for Caicedo when he was playing in Man City's UEFA Cup run the season they bought Robinho (08/09?), it was obvious he was going to be replaced by the money coming in and he looked quite a good player.
He's playing well at the moment, to the extent that I don't go 'ugh fucks sake' when I see his name on the team sheet. I still do that for Lovenkrands, like.
