  1. Was at the boozer and Soccer Saturday got flipped on at 4-1. Anyone care to tell me what the fuck happened?

    Nile Ranger

The whole 'Ranger is lazy' thing is a myth and total bollocks. His faults are his positioning and his finishing, but certainly not his work rate.

  4. At the moment I'd be more confident in Best or even Xisco to grab us a goal than Lovenkrands. As for Ranger, I think he offers less goal threat but a lot more in open play, make of that what you will.
  5. Jose wins that particular battle on account of him successfully growing hair into his twenties.

There's a difference between "getting minutes" and being our Plan B attacker, though. Marchena used to "get minutes" for Spain and had that mental record of never being on the losing side till recently - mainly because he only played the last five minutes of each game and rarely a full game or even a half.

Don't agree with that per se - it's laughable that he's our best forward option from the bench, but not the fact he's making appearances. I'd still have him on there though, and in games such as Sunderland and Arsenal it can only aid his development by giving him minutes. Him getting an entire half against Blackburn just highlights how short we are in the forward department.
  8. Oh and good to see he's playing for the reserves. Wonder if that's because he'll be involved one way or another and needs the fitness?
  9. I've always thought that was bollocks since the time when he was an injury time 'wind the clock down' sub at WBA away (when Kinnear got ill). Surely if we owed money after x appearances we'd have put someone else on for the final 90 seconds?
  10. I'd be disappointed too, but I think Krul will see this season as 'progress' because he's had about 15-20 starts (depending when Harper comes back and also if he plays in FAC matches) and therefore won't kick up too much of a stink. He'll know also that Harper probably has this season and arguably next season as a top-level goalkeeper, and also with Forster coming back next season, Krul may well be out on loan for that final season of Harper's. Krul's new deal recently tells me that he knows Harper hasn't got long left.
  11. Maybe Carroll's caught that weird injury disease the likes of Giggs, Scholes, G.Neville, Rooney and Ferdinand used to get whenever an international loomed. Injury too serious to even be on the bench Wednesday, fully recovered and able to play 90 minutes Saturday.
  12. My abiding memory of Duff was his signature trick - recieve ball, run up to full back, eyeball them, shuffle feet a little, turn and pass backwards to Babayaro.

He'll be getting in a bin bag at the end of the season and left out at the kerb by Fergie.
  14. Probably wants to see if he can sustain his form. He'll be in the next one if he keeps going the way he is.
  15. I thought Lovenkrands had blown his chance after the Wigan game, surely Hughton knows now that he's simply not a viable option anymore, unless we draw Plymouth in the FA Cup.
  16. Lawro calling Gerrard 'Stevie G' is perfectly justified... I'm assuming 'G' stands for 'Gash pass hands Stoke goal no. 2'?
  17. Surely he has to get a chance soon, considering Ranger and Lovenkrands both were woeful today.
  18. I don't want to watch Gareth fucking Barry leaving a snail trail across the Wembley turf again thankyou.
  19. Looking at the 'new/unusual' names there, Carroll is arguably the only one to have earned the call-up.
  20. Smalling ahead of Cahill and Shawcross: absolute disgrace.
  21. Jay Bothroyd?
