I think when we've heard the soundbites from Hughton over the last 6-12 months about "slow steady progress" and the buzzword from MA which seems to be "sustainable" - you can just about see the shoots of that appearing in the ground now. I'm aware it's very early days yet and things could easily change or go wrong, but you can just about see the plan coming into action.

This is the sort of game that under any of the previous administrations we'd have lost. I truly hope that the lessons we learned away from home last year, ie digging in and taking a battling point, will die hard this season. Simpson is probably better than Perch. The first three games of the season + pre-season has made me think Perch is a bit of a limited player.

There's room for a forward if we loan out Ranger. Carroll, Shola, Lovenkrands, Best and one other. There's also the option of Nolan or Ben Arfa behind one forward.
