  1. Irritating to see Chelsea sign good players this time. Guess we're banking on an Arsenal drop this season.
  2. Mount has always felt a bit meh to me. Think Man Utd will overpay.
  3. Torn between I really don't want to play next year but it's my job. Oh well
  4. Not sure CB is fourth-choice when we're one injury away from Lascelles.
  5. It's been a class day. I imagine tomorrow, the day after and all summer will be too.
  6. I hope we get onto some of the top free transfers because we need 5/6 players without selling and that'll cost loads. Perhaps we'll save a lot in wages by losing most of Karius, Ritchie, Dummett, Manquillo, Lewis, Fraser, Clark, Darlow, Hayden and Hendrick.... they don't count as losing depth, really. And it'd be great to raise money from selling Anthony Gordon but don't think we'll be able to flog him, sadly. Huge summer needed, as we need both quality and quantity.
  7. I'm 8 minutes into a 10-hour YouTube loop of the Champions League anthem. Not sleeping tonight, then.
  8. Although we have reached the Champions League (on the ultimate high), tonight was exactly the sort of thing I was fearing a week or two ago. Drawing the 'easy' games with Leeds and Leicester, with the fear that our inexperience wouldn't know how to get over the line. Thankfully, Aston Villa came along.
  9. At the end of the day, all we have til the very end is memories. Can't wait to produce more of them. It's just ludicrous to think that we're back in the Champions League. Even typing this out is mental. Newcastle United are back in the Champions League. Fuck off, Mike Ashley. Knobhead.
  10. Not a fan of being so confident, it doesn't normally go well So Leicester have benched Maddison and Barnes to go 5-3-2.
  11. 1-0 Dortmund. Said all along that all Dortmund needed to do for success is sell Haaland...
  12. Brighton were unrecognisable tonight, thank fuck for that. Huge win. Would much prefer Villa to do it for us, as a lil draw v Leicester would still require something at Chelsea. Can't handle those nerves. It'd be an absolute game-changer if we get there.
  13. Massive thanks to De Zerbi for that teamsheet, by the way. Even a pessimist like me suddenly gained confidence at that XI. Our lot played well, relentlessly hounding them for the ball. Every time Brighton were semi-promising they'd do a wayward pass. Great boost for goal difference too.
  14. I once sat in the front of a car with him years ago and he kept bragging about recently pulling a fit colleague.
  15. I'm petrified, like. Brighton aren't unbeatable, as we've seen, but I'm not sure tactically how we'd do it. Yet we have to.

Great to finally see something go well.... was convinced Luton would regret not scoring a third. The thought of seeing them mentioned in the civilised world again, with those stripes and that bloody word. Grim. Thank fuck it's not happening
  17. It's felt like the first result in a while that's gone well between ourselves, Liverpool and the mackems. Let's hope the tide has turned!
  18. It's going to be a long couple of days, like. Mad how quickly our defence has switched from the league's best to being a bit shambolic.... in that respect, I fear Brighton's attack. Definitely see them scoring, so suddenly we need two. Just have to hope there's an 'after the lord mayors show' vibe, with their week's outstanding performance already done.
  19. Fuck this bed-wetting narrative, like. It was realism in a place of delirium. An experienced team is relentlessly chasing down an inexperienced one whose defence has collapsed. Either we finally, finally get help from someone (Villa), find a way to defeat a very good Brighton team or beat Chelsea who - for all their recent shite - are still capable of being final day dickheads. We shouldn't be assuming wins against anyone, as Leeds taught us.
  20. I very rarely bet but - in hopes of jinxing my pessimism - have been putting on 'worst case scenario' bets of late. The last two weeks have brought in over £150. Never been so gutted to win money Liverpool, Sunderland, Newcastle draw/lose
  21. For me, it'd be like when I'm obsessed with a TV show but it ends badly, so I'll inevitably never re-watch that show again. If we finish 5th, the pain will be so strong that I'll try to forget it ever happened.... that'll be called 'wrong' but whatever, we all deal with things differently
