Move on, try other targets and maybe revisit this on deadline day. Maybe.

The opinion split is probably based on our perceptions. When comparing it with the £35m, it looks great because we've made Liverpool look stupid. On the other hand, its at least £10m and massive wages on a 3rd choice striker that contradicts our new playing style. Unfortunately, both points are valid. As funny as it'll be to humiliate Liverpool, I think we can easily find a better and cheaper 3rd choice striker. One that fits the blueprint. We know Carroll will be back one day but I dont think it should be this one.

Time to get those Body Language books out again....

Some loans have guaranteed purchases at the end (like Ibra signing for Milan), which seem pointless to me. I hope this wouldnt be one of those.

Fucking hell, that is outrageous money.

Dunno if these links have been posted yet: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/carroll-heading-home-as-liverpool-write-off-25m-7945406.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/newcastle-united/9402142/Newcastle-United-move-is-a-ploy-to-unsettle-Andy-Carroll-and-eventually-re-sign-him-for-only-12m.html Both seem to think it's a very likely deal, somewhere between £10m and £12m.

Must admit I'm surprised the club seem to be paying that much, but absolutely chuffed that they are. He'll be a fantastic signing and an incredible upgrade on our current right backs

I think we'll likely be back in for him. The wheels are starting to turn... We played long ball for a lot of last season. The reason our win at West Brom was so great was because we hadn't seen that type of play - it certainly wasn't the norm. We played gritty football until March and evolved by May. Being sensible now - and ignoring how funny it'd be - he'd be an awkward fit and I think we should stick to our successful project. It won't be a problem if we don't get him, this was just a bonus. The opportunists probably thought it was worth a go, without getting serious about it. However, I'm very curious about who's next on our list after De Jong, Carroll and Hoilett. Quite a fun Sunday night

I think he'd be willing to be 3rd choice here if it meant he could come back home. He was obviously homesick, with the amount of times he was back up here.

Not a good one. Phone signals are a bastard there.

I can't stop laughing at this It's probably the same sense of humour that led to Dezza streaking across the pitch but this is a good 'un. They'll probably accept and we'll go "Nah it's ok. You keep him" whilst legging it back to SJP.

No, I agree Although it's mostly for the idea of humiliating Liverplol.
-
By the way, I'm not against this at all. If it's adding a third stiker that gives us another gameplan than fair enough. It'll not happen though.

We're ripping the piss out of them here Ultimate trolling.

Damn you, Puma

They wanted Cisse too, didn't they? Bayern - the Champions League finalists - must be so jealous of us.

The casinos of Landsberg am Lech? Absolutely. Theres a great one next to the Frankfurter factory. Sorry for the confusion.

I think Fat Mike will show up for this, lose millions in the casinos and then cancel the Debuchy deal - who was watching the game in the stands. He'll then sell Tiote and 'trouser the money'.

97-99 kit should never be mentioned again, especially as one was accompanied by a purple, orange and green away shirt. Horrific times.

Still my favourite moment as a Newcastle fan. Just a phenomenal night.

And of course, the Ibra and Eto'o calamity.
