    Football pet hates

Funny that you named four African players I personally love dancing after the goals. It's is one of the marvelous things in football, and something unique. What I cannot stand is players who reveal stupid messages on their undershirt after they have scored. It's fine if someone has died or there is some great political cause, but I do not care about the birthing of your children or the making of your wife.
  2. the table does lie a little bit. yeah we're 9th, but we've played half of the teams in the league yet still not arsenal, chelsea, liverpool or spurs. so we've definitely had easy-ish fixtures so far and been far from convincing. not using that as an argument to sack hughton though because, as we've already said, that shouldn't even be discussed yet. its lunacy.

Jonas? Aye, he can fuck off n all. The lush bastard. If players did a spot of ballroom dancing that'd be quite funny so that I'd accept. Like that Icelandic team did? I'd post the video but its got match footage....
  4. to be honest, it was a lose-lose situation because of the way the media can spin anything into everything.
  5. Yeah but I'm lazy and can't be bothered to name more And if nothing else, Ronaldo is memorable....
  6. Yeah I'm starting to doubt Lovenkrands now. Ronaldo was right, he just can't do it in the Premiership. Shame, because he seems really canny.
  7. We can move S Taylor into CB, or put Perch there. Meanwhile R Taylor can play in a few positions. Basically, the only other defender is Kadar and I thought Hughton would prefer Perchy.
  8. Why the hell is he 'under pressure' anyway? It makes me sick how Sky are plucking rumours out of thin air and creating a non-existant bad feeling. We're happy with Hughton, theres no discontent and he's doing a decent job. It makes - even in Mike Ashley's world - absolutely no sense to sack him now. It just shows that if you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it.
  9. I could put my house on a 1-1 draw. Obviously I wont.....but I could! Its nailed on. Malbranque to put them 1 up, then Ameobi equalises in the 2nd half. Krul S Taylor - Williamson - Coloccini - Enrique Barton - Nolan - Tiote - Jonas Carroll - Ameobi Bench: Soderberg, Simpson, Perch, R Taylor, Routledge, Guthrie, Ranger I hate derby day so much, HATE HATE HATE it. Bricking it already.
  10. very weird score. theres certainly nothing to be disheartened by...we did alright. as far as 4-0s go, that was encouraging.
  11. Can you not tell by the north-eastern surname? ....btw yes, i think he does support them
  12. Ferguson should've at least been on the bench. Baffling. As somebody in the 'strong team' camp, I'm a bit disappointed, but its a good bench.
  13. “It is important that we go into the game and think we want to qualify. But also we want to produce a great performance because the Chelsea game has shown that you don’t get away with an average performance against Newcastle. “They are competitive, they are a good side. They have a good mixture between physical power, technical level and spirit. “That is why they will be a dangerous side for everybody, not only at home but as well away. They showed that again on Saturday by winning at West Ham when the home side needed points. “So you see that this Newcastle team has qualities and I think they will be comfortable in the Premier League this year.” When someone like Wenger thinks we'll be comfortable, you suddenly feel a lot better about our chances of staying up.
  14. Also got high praise in The Football Ramble this week. Pete said it was one of the best performances he'd ever seen, ever!

    Sunderland...

Seen Tiote at the park the other day with a chain lead around his neck. Hughton was being flung all over the place.
  16. That night in Leverkusen, the sheer force of an 8 syllabled-12 lettered beast shellshocked them into defeat.
  17. I was going to post exactly that, then I thought no-one else would be weird enough to find that vaguely interesting. A 1.5 words per syllable rate is impressively low. You underestimated me Iniesta and Elokobi have 4 in 7, so just miss out. Tiote 3 in 5.
  18. A very random thought: Ameobi has 4 syllables but only 6 letters. Can any footballers better that?

    Ballon d'Or

Xavi and Mourinho. But any out of Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Villa and Sneijder could win it, even if that is a bit Barcelona heavy. Messi is still the best player in the world, but since when does that matter for this.....

    Sunderland...

my north east megamix would be: Gordon Onuoha - Campbell - Coloccini - Enrique Elmohamady - Tiote - Henderson - Ben Arfa Carroll - Bent Subs: Krul, Williamson, Jonas, Malbranque, Richardson, Nolan, Gyan (with Barton and Gosling unlucky) And as for Sunday, its the most obvious 1-1 draw you'll ever see.

    Sunderland...

Tiote is actually 2 people, so we only need 4 in midfield.
  22. Apparantly we're after Dirk Kuyt too.
  23. I'd go strong, without doubt. Win this and we could seriously think of a Wembley day out. Krul R Taylor - Perch - Coloccini - Ferguson Routledge - Guthrie - Tiote - Jonas Ameobi - Carroll Subs: Soderberg, Williamson, Kadar, Vuckic, Smith, Ranger, Lovenkrands
