We have strikers who can perform at this level tho. We could really do with a creative midfielder before a striker imo. definitely. all thats missing for our strikers is good service. otherwise they'd have 10 goals each, and we wouldnt be linked with any more. priority should definitely be a creative player, ideally on the wing. but if hughton has his heart set on a striker, boyd and beckford are both fine choices at this time.

this is hard to choose, because a fan will naturally criticise, therefore nobody gets built up to god-like status. (apart from shearer, who is god!)

there are people against signing boyd, and people against signing beckford....chances are, ultimately, neither of them are PL quality. but we're not there yet and spending a couple of million to ensure we get there is totally worth it. long term thinking is nice, but theres many situations where short term is vital. this is one of those. and for the championship, boyd and beckford are definitely good enough.

beckford will be a smashing signing. maybe not premiership quality, but we'll worry about that when/if we get there. for a million quid its certainly worth it. the difference between the championship and league 1 is small and i think he'd adapt well. and as for his attitude, as long as he gets 10 goals to get us back in the PL, we can sell him and move on. no harm done. if leeds reject £1m, maybe we should offer £1.2m plus Nicky Butt

a few weeks on and it still makes me laugh haha. the resemblance is uncanny (personality wise, too). megson is terrible, the fans hated him from the start, he's boring and his team is struggling.....why did this take so long??

i don't really know this legal stuff, but it must be pretty serious if its overshadowing megson today? they'll find a way not to go bust, but if that means even more players leaving, they may as well prepare for the Championship.

Don't see whats so bad about that. As a fan, I find it hard to take that after such an awful performance, they'd immediately hit Tiger Tiger as if nothing had happened. I know footballers need spare time too and they need to unwind, but if you've just paid to watch these players and now you're seeing them getting drunk in the corner of Tiger hours later, it must be disheartening.

As much grief as he gets, I will always have a soft spot for Bellamy after what he did here. Just like the rest of that team. I grew up with that team and will never forget those memories....Bellamy was integral to most of them. Didn't he say when he left that if he ever got the chance to return, he'd walk back to Newcastle on his hands? Top man.

In the sense that, if it wasn't for those stupid errors, he'd be a qualit defender. 7) WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED... The summer when we only bought Bowyer became a turning point, I think. So my answer is "anybody decent during that summer". 8) WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE LET GO... Milner and Abdoulaye Faye. Managerially, we should NEVER have let Allardyce go (which I know is unpopular around here). 9) BEST HOME GAME Personally, I loved beating Boro 3-1 last season. It was all or nothing.....when the 3rd went in, people around me were dancing and somersaulting. But runners-up include Robert vs Fulham, Shearer vs Villa and Ranger vs Coventry. 13) WORST GOAL CONCEDED with our defence??? it's hard getting it down to 10. 15) BEST HAIRCUT Oba Martins with his "wet finger in a socket" piece. 16) WORST HAIRCUT Cordone and his headband (despite Carroll's cornrows coming close) 17) BEST LOOKING PLAYER Habib Beye, you sexy beast! 18) UGLIEST PLAYER Clarence Acuna. 19) DIRTIEST PLAYER Acuna looked like he never showered......oh right. in that case, i'd say bowyer, smith or barton. 20) BEST STARTING XI OF THE DECADE Given S Taylor Woodgate Bassong Bernard Solano Dyer Speed Robert Shearer Bellamy 21) PREDICTIONS FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS - MORE /LESS / EQUALLY SUCCESSFUL Premiership for all the decade (from August). I'd not take him. He seems like a bad apple and for the price Cardiff would demand, we can do a LOT better. I think the Championship is his level really, despite being OK in the Premiership at Sunderland.

I think we'd survive but we'd need a lot of work. but too much change over just one summer might unsettle the team anyway. if we could only either a new owner or a new manager, what would it be?

this is embarassing. we're actually throwing it away....again! yet again the players didn't even get out of first gear, or look like they want to. why the hell are they doing this?? i'm starting to get a little bit worried now and lets hope we can buy well in january.

Isnt he just as poor at PL level as another X-Man Utd trainee (Frazier Campbell). yeh he's crap in the PL, but he tore this league apart last year. tbh i'd rather keep harewood though

forest, cardiff and leicester won't stay consistent. blackpool and swansea will fall away because they're nowhere near good enough. only qpr, boro and sheff utd might be able to put a run together but they're too far away to overtake us now. i've never been so confident of promotion

We didn't lose on Boxing Day although it kinda feels like one.....if they bothered to get out of 1st gear then we could have battered these. apparantly harewood was shocking, although i thought he was alright - didn't realise how strong he is! butt needs to take a permanent holiday, guthrie is still mint and harper's save was class. definite foul for their goal but shola was offside, so fair enough. wish colo and enrique would stop showboating ALL the time....one day that'll get us in trouble.
