See, i find this such a daft thing when i chat to people who are the same age as me. How can you start following Newcastle in 1997 and your favourite player not be Shearer? Shearer was my f***ing life man. I mean i loved Batty and Pearce as a little'un around that time cos they were nails, but i mean, they were divisions below the big man. Not having a go btw, just find it funny. I honestly have no idea, it's quite strange tbh. It's Probably because I liked playing as a goalkeeper. When my dad took me to buy my first Newcastle shirt he tried to persuade me to get the home top with Shearer on the back but I was having none of it. I wanted the keeper top with Hislop on the back. I was gutted when he left too, i think i had a bit of an obsession with him.

Despite Clemmit being a cretin I don't actually mind this.

Basically from birth. Doubt my dad would have let me support anyone else. First game was in 97, the Stevenage Borough replay in the FA cup, cant remember anything about the game other than my favourite player, Shaka Hislop was playing.

I have no choice but to leave my seat early on midweek games. I normally go and stand down at the bottom until the final whistle. If I stop until the end then I miss the bus and have to wait an hour on my own in the freezing cold for the last one.

They'll nick it now. Knew it would happen.

Doctor Zaius replied to JH's topic in Football
Smith "back" for Derby but Colo is still out. -
Neville should surely have been goal side there imo.

Would love Everton to nick this!

Everything seems to be embarrassing these days. In future we should all sit down and not sing or clap to make sure further shameful embarrassment is avoided.

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll
Doctor Zaius replied to Pilko's topic in Football
I feel sorry for him at times. Isolated is the correct word. Sometimes, when we play away and all we do is whack balls forward for him there is little he can do. Half the time you've got our midfield picking the ball up deep and hitting it long towards Carroll who is 9 times out of 10 up there on his own. Carroll is definately a palyer who works best in a 4-4-2 formation tbh, when he's ghot someone feeding off him. -
What a pointless article. Who gives a fuck what Craig fucking Fagan thinks

Honest to god.

Aye and Man utd ripped it from Liverpool. "they dont care about Rafa, they dont care about the fans, Liverpool football club, is in the wrong hands" The fact is chants/songs/tunes are stolen all the time. It happens constantly, who cares?

Credit to Hughton. Despite a 2nd choice back 4, he got the lads fired up and we played well. Well done Chrissy.

The was fantastic up in level 7 tonight. Went on for ages.

Claus Jorgensen formerly of Blackpool and Coventry was faroese I thinkl. Brian Kerr the ex Irish manager managed them for a while too.

Cherno Samba and Sonny Pike are two more. Didier Domi to some extent.

That isnt Samuel Okunowo is it? I've got a relative who was involved in football and I remember him telling me about this lad. He watched him at some kind of youth tournament of some sort and he tells me to this day he remains the best 14/15/16 (not sure how old) year old footballer he has ever ever seen, he was absolutely convinced that this Okunowo fella would go down in history. Still occasionally mentions him, he said he was just stood there in absolute awe at this young lad and how amazing he was. He said he was tempted to remain another day where this tournament was being staged just to watch this kid. It's quite bizzare how a player of such immense talent can go backwards. Looking at his wiki after bouncing around many different european clubs to little success he's now 30 year old and playing for Waltham forest in the 8th tier of English football, almost quite sad really. Did anything happen to him, such as an injury being the reason his career went pear shaped, im genuinely interested to know a little bit more about him now?
