no win in 13 games suggests they aren't too good to go down. I've watched them quite a few times this season and they are very poor. Absolutely pants at the back, no width at all in the midfield and that Cana lad, cant pass a ball. Darren Bent though, is some player, stop him scoring and they'll be in deep shit (if they're not already). Bruce's tactics are simply awful, on paper they have the players to play their way out of this relegation scrap they're currently embroiled in however Bruce's "whack in up to Kenwyne Jones" tactics are shit. Bruce throughout his career has lived and died on his signings, with the likes of Benjani, Kilgallon, Turner etc his transfer market activities imo have been poor, he is also tactically inept. The mackems are starting to get impatient with Bruce and for him to take them downhaving spent all that money would prove him to be one of the worst appointments ever. Having said that I dont think they'll go down. Dont get me wrong, they're dross, it's just that Pompey, Hull, Burnley, Wolves etc are even worse. It's not impossible but I dont think they will, as poor as they are. p.s If they did go down, would you see our lot hanging messages on bedsheets on the Wear bridge like they did on the Tyne bridge? Would you see our lot putting signs up on the side of roads taking the piss? Would we go on about it for months and months on end? Would we fuck, because we're not obsessed, because we're not undignified and more importantly, we've got something those lot lack in bucket loads. Class.

The better kids in the North East, and Newcastle, are picked up by Boro and Sunderland (I think the Mackems currently have 3 or 4 Geordies in their youth program who should be playing for the Toon). I'm not going to deny it, but their set up is a lot better and orgainsed then ours currently is. If I had a kid with Footballing talent, and I could put my heart for the Toon to one side (and swallow pride), I'd seriously think about telling him to pick Boro or Sunderland if he wanted to Succeed in football. Also, goodluck to the young uns tonight against West Ham - HO'WAY THE TOON! Definately, I've heard/seen it first hand.

i'm afraid i don't understand this bit in bold. is it an expression or a pub... help! Yeah its a pub full of mackems in Sunderland. I think it's kind of their shittier version of the strawberry pub outside SJP. -
Found this article hillarious. http://newsfromireland.com/2010/01/irishman-urinated-on-french-bread-in-protest-at-henry-handball-court-told/

for some bizzare reason I had a dream the other night that Barca signed Arda Turan. Would be a pretty good signing for you's imo. I once dreamt that barca signed me. Even in my dreams I was so s*** that I cost the manager his job

Sold out their allocation, might be a decent atmosphere. Hopefully, its been pretty poor the last few times ive been this season. -
Hasn't played too often tbh, remember him missing an absolute sitter for Spurs at SJP last year like.

A possibility for trouble with this one I reckon. Cardiff came up and burned the wheatsheaf down in Sunderland on a Tuesday night a few year ago. Add this to the fact that they'll probably bring a few more up, it's a Friday night and many wont be going straight home after the game... I hope there inst like. -
Guthrie just said he wants to play in the centre. Take note Hughton.

Come again?

Aye Ilan has signed for West ham not Santander. Or old mate Babayaro supposedly going to Forest too.

This is the Best thread, I've ever been in, dududu dududu

Not a great signing. Might possibly do at job at this level, however we've signed him on a 3.5 Year deal. He's nowhere near premier league standard tbh. A bit of a strange one this. -
"Hughton told us Sat he 'expects' to have another striker by 5pm.Has got numbers he wanted so far-if not exact players" Taken from Caulkins twitter.
-
Where does Caulkin say this? On his twitter http://twitter.com/caulkinTheTimes
-
Sorry if already posted but Caulkin reckons he wanted to come here but we wouldnt pay the money Wigan were willing to. @JDewshi Moses? Yes, was also told he wanted to come to Nufc. Think that would have been better move for him, but £££ talks.

The whole squad put up for sale again possibly? Probably not. I predict the most boring deadline day in years.

What this business about Chopra at the Palace game?

Vile tosser! -
I don't understand why we shipped him out in the first place. We signed him for £5 Million, there has to be something about him. Surely he isnt so bad that he's a worse option than Carroll or Ranger, two lads that are still learning their trade (despite what the former likes to think). The only reason I can think of sending him out on loan and refusing to play him is possibly If he plays for us we might have to pay a fee to Deportivo, something Ashley doesn't want to pay?
-
Some of this criticism is unfair imo. Think back to the start of the season, how many we're saying we'd struggle to get into the play offs never mind go up automatically yet here we are, 4 points clear. Yes the football is fucking shit, but I remember someone saying Birmingham were the same last year, and look at them now. I remember the mackems saying the same about Keane when they went up, the only team I can really remember playing great football and going up was West Brom and they came straight back down finishing bottom. The football is poor we know that, we know that this team wouldn't stay up, but now isn't the time to panic, Hughtons signings have been pretty shrewd so far, if we went up hopefully he'd carry on in this vain. I think I'm one of a few that have some sort of faith in Hughton tbh. We all know he isn't a world class manager but those who are saying he needs to go, who are we going to replace him with? Hypothetical situation; we go up, those that want him gone get their wish and he's off, what decent manager is going to want to come and work under Ashley and Llambias with the reputation they have? It wouldnt do our misrepresentation of being too demanding any good either because regardless of the shite football, people are going to look at the league table, see that we've gone up despite initial expectations and slate us for wanting him gone, rightly or wrongly what manager is going to want to work under fans that want forced their manager out despite being top of the league. At the end of the day he's not an experienced manager and this is his first season as a manager, he's bound to make mistakes. So far, I think he's done a good job. To say that he must step down if we go up is a little harsh imo.
-
Dissapointed but not shocked we missed out on him.
-
I know it's been said before but it's so blindingly obvious this lad isnt a winger. Not in any sense of the word. The lads at an age now where he needs to start playing in his proper position, in the centre of midfield. I honestly hope, with Routledge coming in Hughton gives him a go in the middle, it's not like we've got anyone in there who's worldclass. I reckon he might go some way to providing the creativity and craft we need.
-
I'd honestly have faith in at least 10 on this forum to do a better job. A lot of us have seen these problems from day one. That's still not a name. I'm genuinely interested to see who those that want him out would replace him with?
