  1. I'd love to see him back. If only for 6 month. One of the best players of the Robson era and a great servent to the club, it would be great to show our gradtidude once more. Obviously he wouldnt bring a great deal to the side but I'd rather see Nobby in the black and white once more than Pancrate. Hughton looks like he dosent want to bring LuaLua through yet so I dont see why Nobby would be that bad of an option. He might not have the magic but for old times sake at least.
  2. Is anyone actually suprised it didnt materialise?
  3. Have .com's "Private source" ever got anything correct before?
  4. I like Savage, I like his style of play, love a player like that. He'll fight for the cause, and he cares. A good player a few year ago and from what I've seen of him he seems like a decent guy. Mind I can see why people dont like him.
  5. I'm sure gogonileranger was actually him.
  6. Basically there has been some right mong having a pop at him on twitter, arguing all sorts with him. Also Bents obviously went onto their forum which is populated by mongs and isnt happy at some of the comments hence that "tweet" Largerstedt posted from him. Here's hoping he carries on reading the SMB, wont do his confidence the world of good.
  7. @DBTheTruth CITY OF SUNDERLAND - PROUD TO WELCOME ALL, NEWCASTLE (WHERE U CHOOSE TO LIVE) HAS A HISTORY OF RACIAL ABUSE, ASK JOHN BARNES @DBTheTruth btw the city of sunderland has history for fighting racism, learn our history and dont dirty our proud name in public like this DBTheTruth @DBTheTruth dont agree with how u have gone about this, u have dragged our supporters name through the mud, deal with it behind closed doors Check out the SMB. Way to go to piss off your best player.
  8. Exactly, and even then goals might not be gurantee'd. The fact is any striker we sign is going to be a gamble. With the amount of money we've got availible you simply aren't going to get a proven goalscorer, therefore any buy will be a risk, you've just got to hope it pays off. A lot of it is pot luck I suppose.
  9. Yes, Oy indeed. I've met him a few times when I was a junior Referee. He actually reffed a match I was playing in a few month back, I know it was only an under 19's match but he was spot on for everything, spoke really well too. Hope he goes far, it's just a shame thats another quality ref along with Clattenburg that wont be able to ref us.
  10. It would be far better if they scrapped Manish, Claridge and the bint jibbering on and just showed highlights. Those three bring nothing to the show and with the time saved from cutting those out the highlights could be a little longer.
  11. Remember watching Rothen for Monaco in the season they got into the CL final and he was suberb, looked excellant and seemed like he was destined to move on to bigger things, eventually he signed for PSG and it seems to have gone downhil from their. My Rangers supporting mate reckons he's crap too.
  12. IF we get him: It will be interesting to see weather he can cope if we go up next season. It will certainly be a massive step up for him from league 1 to the premier league with just half a season in the championship inbetween. Obviously he'll not be banging them in like he was for Leeds but hopefully he can cut the msutard and chip in with a fair few goals. I've never really had the chance to watch him to often but I wonder what his chance to goal ratio is like, is he a good finisher? or does he waste a lot of chances? From what I've seen of him he looks bright, lively and more importantly; pacey. However we never seem to exploit teams using pace, we never seem to get in behind teams when Lovenkrands plays, Martins never did either though weather he was as quick as he wassupposed to be remains to be seen. Had a look on a few Leeds forums and the general consensus seems to be that he's not good enough for the premier league, he's disloyal and Leeds are bigger than Newcastle anyway. Typical Leeds fans
  13. I like Nolan. Ok he might be overweight, he might have been shocking last season and he might always be out on the drink but he comes across as a really good guy. He loves his celebrations infront of the fans too. He's turned himself around this season imo and he's become a likeable guy and player again.
  14. More to the point, who the f*** is Mike Phelan, never heard of the c***. Edit, just remembered, the Man utd Assistaint.
  15. If you mean Borja Valero then he's already failed in England once with West Brom last season. I think he's back at Mallorca on loan, but from what I remember he was never suited to English football and was a total flop.
  16. I dont see why they want rid of that type of football!? If it works, why not keep it. They've got the players to implement it, to change their style would take alot of hard work and alot of investment with potentially disasterous consequences. I personally wouldnt be bothered if our football was wanky long ball shite, as long as it got us results.
  17. The general jist of those comments are that they're relitively pleased. They want to carry on signing experienced players like Vassell and Geremi to help them push for the Uefa cup place, no fee mentioned like. Well according to the Turkish guy on my msn.
  18. Shocked he's gone tbh. Thought he would have hung around and seen off the last of his contract rather than take a wage cut. 50K+ off the wage bill for an utterly shit player. Thanks for that cross against the mackems and the free kick against spurs, the only thing he achieved of note. Never waranted the money he was on and was surplus to requirements. Good bye to bad rubbish.
  19. I dont want Stoke to go down because they're a "shit club" More because their fans are a bunch of knuckle dragging arseholes.
  20. Struggling with 6 in 12? Didnt realise he had that many like but even so, like Cox I still think Beckford would struggle big time in the PL.
  21. Not a chance, he's fucking crap. All the mackems I know say he's bollocks. For the money he'd cost, there will be better options out there surely. Some of the papers like to push the story that Enrique part exchange for Richardson is involved, I'd actually cry tbh.
  22. Boyd will sign for Birmingham, would be very suprised if he didnt. Beckford however, scored goals in league 1 but so did Simon Cox, a player who's struggles in the championship. We have to be looking at palyers that will do a job in the premier league next season, something I dont think Beckford will do.
  23. I hope we dont re-sign with Northern Rock for the simple reason it all started to go tits up when we changed our sponsors from NTL to Nothern rock. Coincidence? I think not
  24. Tbh for the amount of stick we get about expectingf to much and being too demanding the Bolton fans are 10X as worse. They didnt like him when he was appointed and despite them looking pretty much doomed when he came in he got them out of trouble but they they never took to him. They have been constantly on his back since he took over. It was impossible for him this season, it got to the point where if they wernt ahead of playing champagne football in the first 10 mins the fans would get on the players back and start booing, must be absolutely impossible to play under, I wouldnt like to place the blame on the fans but they certainly havn't helped them. They were doing it last season aswell and they were relitively safe, your fucking Bolton ffs man. Ok, their 3rd bottom but they're unbeaten in 6 games and they've got 2 games in hand. It annoys me when we get the reputation of causing our own club probelms, being overdemanding and putting too much pressure on the manager when you've got a set of fans like this. I honestly really do hope Bolton go down, their fans absolutely deserve it tbh.
