  1. Mate at work says he should be great in the Championship. Just said what others have said - defensive positioning isn't great, great going forward and taking the ball up the pitch.
  2. Genuinely, what's your issue? It's this sort of rubbish gives NUFC fans a bad rep. It is possible for an Irish or Scottish player to be good. If we were signing George Best in his prime you'd probably start grumbling about it. Also, wake up call. We are lower league.
  3. Grim? Our highly paid band of European mercenaries didn't exactly fill the heart with pride.

  5. Definitely. Deliveries coming in from Jonas/Enrique on one side, and Routledge/Simpson on the other side, but we could also play with Nolan through the middle. This team has nothing like that, bar Ritchie, and play exactly as you'd expect in that situation. Tapping the ball side to side, with only Shelvey occasionally trying something different. We need Shelvey playing further forward in a more free role, with Hayden propping it up behind. We need another Ritchie on the other side, but most importantly we need someone up front with presence, with Gayle/Perez/Armstrong playing off them. Mitrovic will give us that, but him coming back is not going to magically rebalance the entire team. The midfield needs set-up differently. We're getting outplayed and outnumbered despite playing three in the middle against teams with two. They have more balance, more movement, and until we find that we're not going to succeed. Shelvey/Hayden or Diame/Hayden should dominate most any midfield in this league. The players, yes, have to shoulder some of the blame as their mentality and attitude is piss poor, however they need to have options in front of them. The last two games they've had none.
  6. Agree with this. I think he'll bring back some belief as well with us having a proper focal point to the top third. Agreed. However, we're still playing as if he's on the pitch, though. If he breaks a leg, or gets suspended for 3 more games this season, I can't see us going up. We need another striker of his mould - a targetman - to cover ASAP.

  8. Not dressed like an absolute bellend. What's going on!?
  9. Very tempted to wander up for this. Haven't been to a game in 3 years.
  10. Both keepers done in on international duty.
  11. You have to wonder how much of this guy's injury trouble is down to that tackle. Keeps suffering knee problems, it seems.
  12. Think we could be gone, now.

Genuinely didn't believe it could be real. But I had to check... https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-carver-5495512a Connected to Simon Pryde, so I imagine it's real.
  15. Was me. Cheers minhosa Notice they didn't pick up on my beaten by 3 goals or more under pardew stat and pretty much cut me off after it. Can't be talking badly about pardew on a national radio show, hey? Ha. Brilliant. I thought it would be someone off here. It wasn't the usual type to call in (I mean that as a compliment) and you actually managed to get some well researched points in. Most on these shows, usually end up in an argument with the presenter and the callers very rarely have a decent opinion. I despair when I listen to some NUFC fans on there. So I rarely listen any more. There are fans down here that actually think Pardew did a good job and Ashley has spent decent money FFS I did hear the "lost 30 something times." Then you got interrupted by that Saggers prick and Collymore having a shouting match. I thought the stat would be the 3 goals or more one. Which was another thing that made me think it was someone from here. cheers to be honest, i just regurgitated minhosas post, its spot on so i thought it was a good chance to get it said on the radio. ive just listened again, theyve edited the pardew defeats point, unbelievable. cant be speaking badly about alan on radio now, can we? Hang on, how have they edited it?
  16. I've never seen an interviewer ask over and over again, "Don't you want to leave Newcastle?" Fair play to the lad for being as patient and straight as he was.
