I can't see Ba going, or Cabaye. Ashley sold Carroll for £35m. That's probably twice to three times what he would really have been worth. Ashley clearly had an agenda getting rid of Barton and Nolan, and Enrique clearly wanted out with less than a year left on his contract. Ba and Cabaye are brand new, they seem happy. They're not causing trouble in the dressing room. They're both worth about £15m IMO. I can't see Ashley selling for less than £30m on either of them. Ashley will sell, but I think he has more sense than to sell on the cheap. If one thing matters to Mike, it's money. EDIT: I know Ba has a release clause, but I assume we'll be drawing up a new contract for him to rectify that now.

Is it beyond the realms of possibility that 'Arry the wheeler dealer's being paid by Demba's agent to spout this, so that his agent can get a huge cut of the new deal, passing some of it to 'Arry?

He need to give the lad a new contract ASAP, as we did with Tiote. Double his pay, multiply the release clause by ten, and give him massive goal bonuses.

I love how the BBC had all their "Man Utd drawn against Liverpool" stories (as indeed it should have been, since their defeat of Man City today makes their side of the story more topical). Now they've decided that that's not pro-Liverpool enough, so they've mirrored the headlines to "Liverpool draw Man Utd" and stuck big pictures of Gerrard up everywhere. Order restored.

Ameobi coming on coincided with Ben Arfa's move out wide, where he got much more space, and also tracked back to help Simpson and became more involved from deep.

We conceded a very sloppy goal. Whilst we were always the better team, w looked lethargic and disinterested in the first half. Obertan coming off transformed us. Ameobi was good, and Ben Arfa went from looking awful to terrorising them on the wing. In the end, we had tons of chances and they had very few. Deserved result. They started time wasting at 37 minutes.
