  1. Would serve them right for rejected decent offers in the first place. Wow, you've changed your tune... Haha, well played sir. In fairness, we were claimed to have multiple bids of varying sizes accepted and rejected during this transfer window. I'm not saying, necessarily, that our bids were the correct value of the player, at least the reported bids. It just strikes me as a bit rich of Twente to reject everything, then panic when people move on. Brinkmanship is an art, not a right. But fair play, the two quotes juxtaposed and out of context make me look like a bit of a tit.

  3. I was sat just out of range of this shot. There was also a kid he was with.
  4. Xisco was watching the game in the stands yesterday, so he is around.

  6. Got his autograph today. Still smiling!
  7. Find it amusing that it makes more sense to print our documents in French now.
  8. Of the team that started today, we had Krul, Simpson, Coloccini, S. Taylor, R. Taylor, Shola and Jonas when we were in the Championship. In a way, that's remarkable. And in a way, it's a slight concern as we can and should do a lot better than some of those players.
  9. £90? Not £90k? Sorry, either is believable. Mirror Website says £90.
  10. Campbell's physically too weak for the Premiership right now for sure. I doubt he'll get much taller, so really this is the step he needs to take. Training with the first team, bulking up. He's got enough pace and footballing brain about him to cause any defender problems with his movement, he just has to be able to compete. He'll never get that staying with the U18s, so good move from Pards I reckon!
  11. How can you get the league position wrong ffs? Such shoddy everything.
  12. He's had an absolute mare there Steve Harper - £4.2m What the jumping jack christ? He's gone mental.
  13. If he'd gone on to be a real hit at Liverpool, Chelsea or PSG might have been stupid enough to bid higher, but that's really about it.
  14. I would be shocked if we bought Pieters and Debuchy quite frankly. I would be shocked if we bought Pieters or Debuchy quite fankly.
  15. Ba and Cabaye being named and then withdrawn is a little strange, no?
  16. Obviously it's not enough to go into a season with just three right backs.
  17. Newcastle did exactly that against CSKA Moscow in the week. They know how to do it, but the Brazillians were just so sublimely good at it, and Newcastle were tired. Can't understand why Joyce picked the same line-up every single time, without resting people over the week.
  18. He's very weak. Got pace about him, and some nice close control. He just runs, and runs. Has put in a few decent crosses, but tbh he seems like he's got a better finish on him than he does eye for an assist atm. Hard worker, but needs to strengthen up even against the other teams at this level. He's new though, so I'm sure it'll come.
  19. 35 minute halfs, so 70 minute games. The teams are looking tired, and injuries look to be affecting a few of the NUFC players.
  20. Kick off in 25 minutes now. Just off to report on the match. Updates on @UtdForNewcastle on Twitter if you're interested.
  21. Really, suprised we would adopt such an approach Of course we would. It's brought us so much success this summer so far.
  22. We should have enough to see off Bolton, going on their teams from previous years. But Desportivo Brazil look quite imperious this year, so should we get them in the final it'll be very, very tough.
  23. I know it's not much, but I don't think that many people here will have watched him for many more than that. I've watched him score four goals, so I have a little idea of how he scores and works up front.
