Yarmalenko scored, plays for Kiev, is their best player along with Konoplyanka. Aye figured it was him but he's on the far side to me at the moment and the announcer spoke in Ukrainian so couldn't make out the name.

At the Ukraine vs USA match at the stadium in Larnaca right now. 1-0 to Ukraine who are playing really well - Tymoschuk, Zozulia and the number 7 on the right who got the goal. Konoplianka is by far motm so far though. Liverpool will have a very good player on their hands if they get him. As for the US, Dempsey and Onyewu have been pretty good. Altidore is f***ing s***. Really really s***. Built like a shithouse and nowt else.

Not sure if I should go to this. Not many players on show I'd like to see tbh. The match is supposed to be in Larnaca, but Cyprus are playing on the same night in Nicosia. Tough choice. -
His first goal will come at home to Man Utd

Their forwards are in good form, but it's their central midfield I worry about. Livermore and Huddlestone are bossing it at the moment, and we really should be playing with 3 in the middle to get the best out of Anita, and have a go at their 3 at the back.

If he'd finished that sitter at Norwich, he'd still be in the team. His stats haven't been boosted by a goal, so Pardew finds easy to blame him and drop him. What a mess.

Ashley is a prime-cut arsehole, Pardew is a fraudster who shoots himself (and us) in the foot with every word of bollocks he spouts, and I hate the way our club is being run, and I am very worried about what our future holds should the status quo continue. Now that the above is out of the way... Fuck me, the 90 minutes on a Saturday are all about Newcastle United having a bigger scoreline than the opposition. There was nothing bittersweet about that last minute winner on the day. Celebrate visibly like a bellend or not, no one can say they didn't at least let out a "GET THE FUCKKKK INNNNN" when Remy turned and smashed it home. All the worries and hatred towards the current NUFC hierarchy disappears, momentarily, as we are conditioned to just...feel good...when we win. Pardew has had similar bad runs in the past that would have more than justified him getting the sack. That home defeat to Reading still sticks in my throat personally, and IMO any owner at any other half decently run club would have sacked the manager after that shambles (add to that the back to back home defeats to the mackems and Liverpool etc..). Losing at home to Villa when our season has been written off wasn't getting him sacked. I can't understand why people let that interfere with their ability to enjoy a last minute winner, or any kind of win against any opposition on the day. We have the entire week in between matches to analyze and go back to our grumbling against what's being done to us. But on the day, pump your first, wave the proverbial flag, shag the cat etc... I miss the simpler days when James Alexander Gordon would read out the scores at 5pm, and if I haven't seen the match, I'd almost shit myself looking for any evidence that we had won depending on the intonation of his voice reading out "Newcastle United ONNNE - Aston Villa nil".

I agree in that their "mettle" hasn't been tested yet with this side as far as mounting a proper title challenge is concerned. Their match at Old Trafford will be a huge test for them. Win that, and they're firmly in with a realistic chance of winning the whole thing.

Not good enough away from home and they are still playing without real pressure. I disagree. They needed to get a result against Arsenal to shave points off their rivals. They obliterated them. They had to come back from behind to beat Fulham and they did. They took a comfortable lead against Swansea, let them back in the game, made it more difficult for themselves, and still managed to win. The media have been asking "can Liverpool win the title" since they lead at the top after a few games, and it has gathered pace since they beat Arsenal. IMO they have what it takes if they can continue to score the goals (they are the league's top scorers iirc). As much as I hate them, I would like to see them win it ahead of the other 3 suspects, simply because it would be good to have a competitive league again.

Easy to forget that he's still relatively young. Getting dicked about being played in 3 or 4 different positions since he's been here doesn't help matters. I also think HE has no idea what his best position is. It's something in his mindset that needs tweaking. His concentration seems to be shot at the moment.

I found it pretty funny/pitiful when he mentioned next week's game at Hull saying "we might not win at Hull, but we'll give 100% hard work and effort". Or words to that effect

Again, this is ignoring the main point. No one is saying that being 8th is bad. Being 12th would be ok if there was an understanding that we are improving. Look at Hughton's time here, or Keegan's second spell when our main concern was to avoid relegation. In both cases there was genuine hope for the future. Now we know that this season is finished and we have no intention of chasing a UEFA place. I guess in a way this is how Bayern/Barcelona/etc fans feel after they've won everything time and again. We're Barcelona

Went to this today. Jonas is an absolute tireless runner. Keita bossed the midfield. Feghouli and Vargas completely changed the game coming on as subs, and both scored. Kiev had some handy players on show. Brown Ideye and Jermaine Lens were both quite good up front. Veloso still has class about him. Belhanda was absolutely useless though. Rybka, the sub Kiev keeper, made 4 or 5 world class saves in the space of 10 minutes before Valencia pressure finally told. Nice evening out.

Would like to see Bigi given a start in this. Not sure if he's match fit though. Has he played much for the reserves? -
His reactiveness is the disease that's plaguing the club footballing wise. If this was a one off result, you'd applaud that he's trying to do something to shake it up. But it isn't. He is completely out of his depth.

"Individual results", in that context sounds like "isolated incidents". Which they aren't. Some were laughed off on here when they were worried that we relied too heavily on Remy and Cabaye and their individual brilliance to score goals. Well guess what....(not aimed at you Ian, but just saying). -
Can this cunt stop touching himself in every fucking interview? Disingenuous, condescending, insincere and pretentious fucking prick. I cannot wait until the day he fucks off out of this club one way or another. Is it possible or OK to hate this guy more than I hate Ashley?

41 with Mata ©, Eriksen and Coleman (if he makes it) to play.

Yup. Palace have a better squad than we do.
