I've heard this lad is supposed to be canny....?
-
If we go down I could see the fans (those that will be left) make a real push for gaining control of the club. Yes, it will be very hard but I can see mass rallies, protests, and plans happening.....imo. The players that I think would leave would be: Bassong, Coloccini, Beye, Enrique, Duff, Barton, Nolan, Martins, Owen (leaving anyway), Viduka (same as Owen), Jonas, S.Taylor, Xisco, Smith, Ameobi (because of his insane wages, and Cacapa. The 'maybes' would be: Geremi, Haper and Guthrie. I could see Lovenkrands given a permanent deal (and rightly so, he'd be canny in the Championship), though. So pretty much, as people have said before me, we'll lose almost our whole squad. Take all those away from an already very small squad then we're in trouble....or Ashley is. We'll have players like Lua Lua, Edgar, Carroll, R.Taylor and Krul (please god) still with us but it will be very, very tough. Then we'll have the likes of Kadar, Ranger, Godsmark, Forster and maybe a couple of others being given a sniff of 1st team football. This could be a part of Ashley's plan.....as it would be very cost reducing filling lots of the whole's with young lads already at the club. I would be a wee bit surprised if Harper stayed at NUFC. He might think to himself that he has one last chance to knock on the England door and he wont do that in the Championship.....plus a host of PL clubs will be sniffing around for him on the cheap. Going down would be an utter disaster, imo and it could take a while for the club to recover from it. We can easily have a clear out this summer without getting relegated, anyway.

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season
Mistle17 replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Its like Luque all over again. For some unknown reason he just isnt played. But in fairness to Luque he was always going to struggle when he ruptured his hamstring in his second match.... Xisco has a good attitude by the looks of it and seems determined to be a hit with us. I really want to see the lad given a proper chance, like. 5 minutes towards the end of a match just isnt good enough.....he's got to get a fair go. Besides he CANT be worse than Shola....just cant. Did anyone ever watch him at Depor? From what I've heard he was decent at best when playing in Spain... -
Personally I dont have a problem with it. I think its beneficial for both club and player most of the time and, although we havnt brought in many players on loan in our more recent history, I think its a good way to test the water with a player and let some of the younger players stretch their legs a little. So for me I dont think we should change it, I think the real issues lie within the permanent deals for players...

seems a right c*** does Carroll. Most of us living in newcastle are have surely heard the stories about him and his cousin Whats the story with this, like?
-
Oh joy, Hull will now be brimming with confidence going into our game with them. Fuck off.
-
Smith did OK I guess. Stay out of the way most of the time which always helps... I cannot believe Hull have just scored. FUCK SAKE!
-
Great performance, like. Really good stuff....the lads should be proud and they need to take it into the Hull game. If we have that work rate and movement against Hull we'll murder them. BUT.....I find myself gutted. I think its because A) We handed over the win with such a stupid mistake, and B)....Its Man Utd, I guess.
-
We'd think the club is in freefall. Well, I would. Still a 7 for me. Tonight changes nothing, we could've got something out of the game if R.Taylor was such a retard, and our performance was very good.
-
Light years better than Duff. Definitely for me..
-
Well I cant imagine anyone thought we'd be holding them 1-1 at HT did we? HT couldnt have come sooner though. We were starting to come under serious pressure. I cant see us getting owt from this...

Oh my god we are gonna get fucking raped, tonight.
-
Very sterile atmosphere tonight Vs mackems.

NUSC write up of Llambias attendance at the Supporters Panel meeting
Mistle17 replied to Happy Face's topic in Football
heza you, or on of the older, more experienced and mature lads from the Ultras should try and go along to those meetings. Its worth a shot, like and it would be good to see what sort of support you'd get from the club and how they'd react by having an "Ultra" group connected to the club. I'd like to see the Ultras succeed and the only way you'll have a chance of doing that is by making the club aware of your aims and intentions. As for the piece itself- well, its an interesting one. You get the feeling that theres a lot of tension between both parties and their both trying to hold back at letting rip at eachother. From Llambias and (mainly) the NUSC theres sly digs through gritted teeth aimed at each other. Worrying, imo, as we're never going to get anywhere if they dont agree on anything. I'm still sort of sitting on the fence in terms of my opinion on the NUSC but their not doing much to help my decision. Fair play to Llambias for showing up, its about fucking time he does but still, good to see the club are coming out of their shell a bit. What Im really angry about is that bollocks comment by Llambias about "top class" managers knocking at his door!!! Fuck off. Fuck off you patronising cunt. Who do you think we are? Fucking mugs? He must've taken a PR class by Freddie Shepherd.... And it looks very bleak as to our summer spending. We'll be spending fuck all and still end up with a tiny squad, which will again leave us in a situation we are in now....which league I dont know. But whatever Llambias says, the club have really fucked up on the finances in terms of transfers. They clearly dont have the slightest notion on how to buy and sell properly. -
A lot of people think that if they support Liverpool their not 'gloryhunters', just because Liverpool dont dominate the PL like Man Utd. Bollocks. Most of my mates are Liverpool "fans". Drives me mad, like.

It was mentioned much earlier in the thread. He was on Facebook or something about it. How do you know that? On this facebook, one of his profile pics was a screenshot of the bbc site, when he was using firefox. Can't believe I actually just searched the thread to find that Neither can I but thanks.
-
It wouldnt surprise me.
-
Yep, starting a new club seems to be the thing to do nowadays when the going gets tough.

Funny you mention Gillingham, mate because I grew up near there in Tonbridge, Kent. When I first started following football I was about 5 or 6 and that was around 1996. The first player I ever saw play on the tele was Alan Shearer. I dont know why, but when I saw him in that black and white strip I was hooked on Newcastle United from then on. Nuts about them. Shearer was my idol and still is, really. You could say he was the reason I started supporting the Toon but I wouldnt classify that as 'gloryhunting'. I'd never heard of Gillingham before then so it was too late for my to start getting into them. My parents never influenced me to support any team so it was down to me (and look what I do...), I guess. Most of my mates in school supported Man Utd, Arsenal, West Ham or Millwall. I think there were a handful of Liverpool fans as well. But I've never met a Gills fan around Tonbridge.... I do feel a bit guilty from time to time about not supporting them, as I dont have any right to support Newcastle and should be supporting my local side.

I'll either get my 1st season ticket or give up on football completely, just depends who's leading the charge next season. If its JFK that's me done. That's what I was thinking.
-
Yes, its slowly setting in. NUFC is still dominating my mind and thoughts, even though I just dont want to give a shit anymore. I felt very down after the match yesterday and Im still feeling shit because of it. I hate it but no matter how hard I try to just forget it and not bother....I just cant. I dont think I'll ever get this club out of my system. They thought of relegation gives me a lump in my throat, but the thought of having Kinnear as permanent manager REALLY does make me not care anymore. I'm close to apathy, put it that way.
-
I just couldnt handle relegation if we are to suffer it. Dunno what I'd do....
-
How do we know Jonas uses Firefox?
-
To say Souness is an abysmal manager would be an understatement, but I actually think hes a good pundit. I dont mind listening to him on Sky.
-
In fairness I think he said something like Grimsby was his first team and Man Utd his second. not much harm in that but I get what you mean...
