Like Shola? What a fucking idiot.

We probably had a squad on par with them when we were in the Championship! And in our relegation season we, on paper, had a squad easily superior to theirs. Wait...on paper? Shit, I'm starting to sound like one of them now

Good points in there. I think that our high line is a big problem at times- especially against teams like WBA, Villa and potential SMB's. O'Neil sets all of teams up with the intention to counter attack and generally they do that well. Players like Sessegnon and McClean could take advantage of that, especially against Simpson. However, they aren't exactly all that. If we're on top our game and have the likes of Cabaye and Tiote back, and Pards decides to play Ben Arfa then there are definitely goals there for us- if we're on form I think we could potentially batter the horrible cunts. What does give me comfort is that we are a 'big game' side it seems, have an excellent record against this lot and we're currently on great form. Agreed. He's got to be dropped, he struggled enough against N'Zogbia and that lad wears blinkers.

Quite a unique player. I really like him, though. His cross for Cisse's goal yesterday was top class!

Me too!!!! I literally wont sleep a wink that night!

Going over to mates houses and having Championship Manager marathons! I remember I stayed at one my mates house for nearly a week and we just played CM 01/02 for literally that whole time Very fond memories.

£5 on Dortmund, Schalke, Barca -1, Man City -1 and Charlton. Then 30p on 13 teams, wins just over £2210 Heervenveen started it off and won, so we're getting closer....

Valuing the FA Cup.

Nice one that!! I'm quite interested in having some goalkeeping knowledge on the CV so that would be handy to have!

I'll give him a wee clap.

Who's our worst player then? In recent games... SHOLA In recent games Shola has been just as frustrating, aye. But He's not consistently our weak link in the team, is he? IMO he actually has some level of ability but is just incredibly unmotivated and lazy. Simpson is clearly just out of his depth.

That's fair enough, but IMO at least Raylor would off some form of delivery from that side. From how he's played this season at FB he's been miles better than Simpson. But we'll agree to disagree, circles are forming...

Because they don't agree with your (sensationalist) opinion? And there's no better alternative. There are better alternatives. Ryan Taylor, for a start. He's not fantastic by any means but he's far better than that waste of space, Simpson. Even Perch! Every game teams target our right hand side because they know Simpson can't defend. It's not 'sensationalist', it's the evidence on his play.
-
Why are people still content to see Danny Simpson in the side? I just don't understand that. He's by far the most inept player at NUFC. I'd much rather play Raylor or Perch there.

Pards looks like someone out of Austin Powers

Moscow were an excellent side that year, there's very little chance we would have beaten them under Souness. Alkmaar was horrible to take- losing away to Charlton days later just summed it up- but for me Lisbon and Marsaille were the worst.

I've seen much, much worse performances than last night. We had a lot of the ball but struggled to penetrate Brighton at all. They got one lucky goal after exposing our weak-link and there was no coming back after that. Personally, I would have dropped Shola and played someone more mobile like Best there, moved Jonas out wide and played Vuckic off the main man. The guy is class and I really don't think Brighton could of handled him.

I like Pardew. But his tactical inconsistency and unwillingness to change things I find unbelievably frustrating. His substitutions all came far too late today and when they did come, there was no logic to them whatsoever (Ferguson excluded). And by playing Ameobi up top on his own like that only invites the opportunity for our lads to knock it long to him when; that's pointless as it's giving the ball away. and with the players we had out on the pitch today against Brighton we should have passed them to death.

Nope. He was a liability before he picked it up and he was a liability whilst carrying the booking. It's debatable whether it was a yellow card, but it was a needless tackle to make and therefore he put himself in a vulnerable position. And besides, he would have bottled it anyway. It is so glaringly obvious how shit this guy is yet he still gets a game ahead of Perch, Raylor and Tavernier. How many more games does Pardew want him to cost us before ditching him?
