  1. How do we know Dalglish signed them and not someone else at board level or someone in his backroom tipped him off? also my point was my feeling that Dalglish would prefer a british player over a foreigner 9/10. Wormy explained what i meant pretty well also your probably right he's no O'Neill but hes definitely no Ferguson either. I certainly don't think anyone at boardroom-level at that time had a clue about players (which could make your point relevant), so my guess would be it was all Dalglish's work.
  2. Sounds like he's almost admitting we got the better end of the deal.
  3. What really infuriated me at the time of his sale was that I remember watching an interview with him shortly before the Chelsea game last November. He stated that he would love to spend the rest of his career at the club and didn't have any intention of moving. It just made the whole thing harder to accept. And then of course you had the fact that we failed to sign a replacement for him which was, at the time, a very frightening position we left ourselves in. Add to this the Hughton/Pardew fiasco and the owners history that portrays them and it just left me with utter despair. However, we seem to have maximised our advantage with that money and built the foundations for a potentially very promising squad. To me it's almost worrying to think of our style of play right now with Pardew having Carroll at his disposal for the direct game. Ba and Cisse every day of the week for me

Had an electrician around the other day. He was a mackem. When he found out I was a 'Mag' he became all bitter and childish. Told me that he had tickets for 'an FA Cup quarter final' in a patronising (lol), childish tone. Also said he had his tickets, travel and accommodation booked for Wembley Then said how sick we're going to be seeing them lift the cup and doing nothing on Thursday nights next season. Oh well....
  5. I honestly wouldn't mind Hoddle. I don't think we're spoilt for choice at the moment so it might come down to the fact that its between Hoddle, Pearce and someone else. Obviously, if 'Arry is available then he should get the nod, but I have a feeling England will struggle to find many options certainly short term. Long term, I think some managers might be tempted to try and succeed where so many have failed- so that could bring with it some exciting names. But I don't think the FA are capable and that's general knowledge now which could well work against us. But whoever it is long term they don't have a lot to work with. Compare us to Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands etc and we have a severe lack of up and coming talent in abundance. We don't even have a bloody national training centre for f*** sake. It's all caught up on us now. And for the record; I cant see us getting past the group stages.
  6. What sort of defender runs away from an opposing payer with his back to him? I've lost words as to how bad this guy is. And for those saying he'd be ideal as 'backup' because all he needs is a bit of competition- well, he couldn't cut it in the Championship so the mere fact that he's completely out of his depth will not change with competition, and neither will learning the basics of defending and intelligence. Woeful player, get rid ASAP.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

In love with this guy! He's only going to get better as well
  8. I would happily stick with what we put out yesterday for the rest of the season (minus Simpson)- especially away from home. I thought we maximised our pace and movement and we counter attacked fantastically.
  9. We've rarely had a better chance to trounce them next week. It would be so, so sweet!
  10. That comment about the kid spitting chunks! Jesus Christ, man! They all deserve each other- cretins.
  11. http://www.footballshirtculture.com/images/newcastle-united-12-13-puma-home-away-third-football-shirts-leaked-a.jpg This was leaked as a potential home kit. Aye I've seen that before, but was just hoping that wouldn't be it and there were more versions doing the rounds
  12. Our new strip should be starting to crop up online in the next few weeks surely? Although it seems Puma release our kits far later than Adidas did.
  13. Don't think hes near as suspect defensively as some people make him out to be. Not as strong as Enrique was but he's certainly not a weak link in our back four (I think we all know who that is) and is excellent bombing forward with Jonas.

    Alan Pardew

Read this sort of nonsense so many times (we are 28 'lucky' games into the season), how were the subs woeful btw? It's not nonsense mate. He took our best (only) attacking threat off for Shola and stuck him on the wing, whilst persisting with Simpson on the pitch. His decision to bring on Gosling wasn't a bad one, however I would have preferred to of seen Vuckic. Today we played completely lop-sided. Why oh why oh why did he play Cabaye wide left? We played practically the whole game with three central midfielders and a right winger. So much for all this 'protection' crap he spouts on about- he played a winger LB and gave him no protection ffs! I never said we're 'lucky' to be where we are, but we're in bloody great danger of blowing all that hard work at the start of the season with baffling tactical decisions and below-par performances.

    Alan Pardew

Picked his team out of a hat today. Had we played against a team with any sort of attacking threat or intent then we wouldn't have won this. Substitutions were woeful as well. Getting fed up with him tbh.
  16. I've learnt (the hard way) that accys just fuck you over. There's rarely a time where they are a success for me, whereas singles, doubles and trebles (at most) are generally much more rewarding!
  17. To think that people who actually save lives don't earn a speck of what most footballers do is most saddening for me like. But that is shocking, Disco.
  18. Absolutely incredible! Really really incredible. Delighted! Stay strong big fella!
  19. Dortmund are the best team in Germany and OM beat them twice in the group stage with an aggregate score of 6-2. No team in Germany should intimidate them. People underestimate Om because the team in rubbish. So then their no being underestimated?
  20. He is genuinely incompetent in all aspects of his game. He doesn't even commit to challenges, he has no aggression or bravery which- imo- just makes him even more unlike-able. How he's a professional football player, let alone a Premiership footballer, I will never be able to work out.
  21. Making money out of Rugby League? Would you stop man.......
