We're starting to feel those dropped points against mackems and Spurs now...

Hope their fucking ashamed of themselves the useless cunts.

Club Statement in a seasons time: "We made a mistake, we are only human, we learn from our mistakes. Our finances are in good order and that will ensure the club goes on, whichever league we are in" etc. That makes me feel sick with rage.

I hate this. I fucking hate this so much.

I wonder what Villa fans are thinking. If we were in their position it would be mental panic stations sounding.

3 fucking 0. For fuck sake...

Anyone else think Carrick should start for England? Massively unappreciated player, imo.

I think we'll be ok. I remember after the loss at Fulham everyone was certain we were doomed for a relegation dogfight, but we've recovered from that disastrous last week of the transfer window. I'd say we'll finish about 12th with a few surprise results in between. I think everyone's going have to appreciate how difficult it will be with such a limited squad ravaged by injuries.

Looks like we'll have to get used to the media fest over Carroll. Still pretty sickening to see him in that horrible jersey of theirs. I hate him and that club.

Such a good tune for a chant. Independiente in Argentina sing that, I think, and it sounds bloody fantastic.

We're 9th. I wish people would stop complaining, it's getting a wee bit boring.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?

Europe would be fantastic, I think few could argue with that. But let's get real here. Did anyone in their wildest dreams ever think we'd be in this position after that awful day at Villa Park two seasons ago? I sure fucking didn't. Especially during our pre-season before the Championship- I would have been delighted with a play-off spot then. And besides, there's still a long way to go in which we have to play Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Villa and Everton in that period. Don't get your hopes up, but keep praying! -
He'd be a very handy signing. An absolute terror on his day. If he had a final ball I think there'd be quite a lot of hype about him.

Van Arnholt would be an ideal replacement for Enrique, but I really do think we should try and hold onto Jose as much as we can. He's a really good character but always one of the best LB's in the league, imo. A class act. It'd be ashame to unsettle the partnership he has alongside Coloccini, and with Danny Simpson really improving, we could have two very solid full backs come next season. Unless he demands a move I don't think we should dream of selling him. In saying all of that, we do need another LB for cover/competition.

I like him. I think he's an honest player who gives everything he's got. I don't see how people can say he's the worst striker they've ever seen! No one remembers Luque, no? One of the laziest players to ever wear our shirt. Tbh, I remember seeing Ameobi putting in much worse performances in the past than Best. No, he's not the greatest but he's what we've got and, in fairness to the bloke, he's scored five goals since January for us. I much prefer him to Lovenkrands who I think is much less clinical and at times is merely a passenger for the side. If we play the ball on the deck and get balls into good areas then Leon has proven he'll tuck them away. Personally I think he'd look better alongside Ranger, who's raw pace and energy/movement would compliment him. He gives everything for the shirt, just give him a break.

Playing on the shoulder of a defender can be very effective, but only if you have the intelligence to time your run well. Something Lovenkrands and Best don't have atm. Sometimes the pass isn't given early enough but so many times Best and Lovenkrands are guilty of being lazy about their runs and completely mis-timing them.

To use an FM phrase, I think it's fair to say our midfield can be fairly 'rigid' at times. Today in the 2nd half especially we made the pitch small for ourselves and its not a rareity to see our midfield too close to the back 4, leaving our strikers isolated and having to feed off the atrocious long balls we have a tendency to resort to. This was at its worst against Fulham a few weeks back, imo. The worst is when for instance we see Jonas on the touchline calling for the ball, he recieves it and is closed down and both our CM's get sucked into where the ball is in the little congested space and it leaves us with nothing but static play. Very frustrating. But, on a more positive view, we have 3 very hardworkers in Barton, Tiote and Jonas. Barton does a lot more running than people appreciate imo. I think that although Nolan's goals a key to the teams success, we'd benefit a lot more if Tiote played alongside someone like Gary Speed. That's some wish I know, but I think we'd see a great improvement then. This midfield is certainly no worse than that of the 2006/07 season when we'd regularly see: Milner---Parker---Butt---N'Zogbia. That central midfield pairing was like hell on earth, and adding to that very poor crossing ability from both wingers, I'd definitely take what we have now, without a doubt.
-
Good choice to give us more attacking options, we're not going to hold out defending.
-
Resorting to long balls now. Gonna struggle to create anything now.
-
We signed two midfielders in the Jan window though:Ben Arfa & Ireland. Both of who are injured.
-
