This Sesko move is giving me bad vibes. I know we want to make a statement but this kid has it all to prove but wants top tier wages now. I think we should walk away. Pay the extra £5m for Wissa and tell Isak to get his boots on for another season. Go big on an attacking midfielder and a centre back.

Just offer £35m now, force Liverpool to the table.

The season starts in just over two weeks. The ‘trust the process’ mantra has been overtaken by events IMO. Still nothing from our owners/executives….

It seems totally obvious now but why didn’t Liverpool just let us buy Ekitike and then move in on Isak.

If the player isn’t sold on us just walk away, publicly. Let it be known we’ve moved on. If he wants to go and waste away at Man Utd let him. We need players who really want to be here, even more so following the Isak shenanigans. Just move on.

Well we’ve been admiring him from afar all summer. If we don’t actually make a fucking bid someone else will. The season starts in just over 2 weeks. The lack of urgency is mind boggling.

Even when Ferguson’s Man Utd were winning everything I still wanted them to beat Liverpool.

If the total figures for the Isak to Liverpool mooted deal are in excess of £250m (transfer fee, agent fees, wages etc.) it’s a hell if a risk on a player who can be quite fragile.

One thing we know is that he’ll get plenty of chances. Let’s hope he starts banging them in if he comes to the Toon. As mentioned previously we don’t know how Ekitike, Gykores or Sesko will adapt to the PL. Hopefully the former two struggle and Sesko becomes our new prolific number 9.

No we aren’t looking at the same profile of players. Elanga, Joao Pedro (even Cunha and Mbeumo if we were actually interested) are all off the back of successful PL seasons which is massively inflating their value. We all thought we’d be fishing on the continent for the next Bruno/Botman in the £30m-£40m price range but we don’t seem to want to take the risk.

The amount of ‘transfer-debt’ we’ve accumulated over the last 3 or 4 windows is ridiculous. We needed a RW at first then a RW and a CB. Then a RW, CB and a ST. We bought a RW but we can now add a CM and possibly an additional ST to the list. Now looking like 2 x ST, CM, CB, GK. Hoping for some positive news next week…..

We’re going to bend over and take 120-130m aren’t we? Does anyone think our absentee landlord is going has the resolve to tell Liverpool it’s 150m or get fucked?
