  1. I was quite positive to the signing, and in some ways still is. But let's be honest, he is not very good. He is a target up front. Ties up the CB quite well. But not much more. Hope he gets a goal soon, might help him loosen up a bit. As Ivar Hoff would say, he have a harder touch then shoot.
  2. Saudi buying Newcastle and are associated with us = "Saudi is not that bad, they are opening up and are involved in football" Qatar is hosting a WC = "wow, Qatar is a nice place, hosting a big event. It must be great" It's about making other things than human rights issues for example, being top of mind for most people. Just fucking google it if you are interested in the topic. This tweet is not a good example of sportswashing.
  3. 7. Missing some firepower. Strange we did not go for a late Origi bid.
  4. Surprised we did not go for a late bid for Origi.
  5. I have not seen him, so I don't know. But if you are sure about it i believe you. Just find it pathetic that we care so much about what they sign and if we "help" Burnley strengthen by getting Wood.
  6. Agree 100% with @HTT II. We need to keep our focus on the primary objective now, which is to stay in the league. i mean, Wood is not what anyone really wanted, but he can do a job now and was available. Not sexy, not spectacular but in some way functional. I hope we get another striker in, but i want a more experienced goalscorer now in January.
  7. Pretty sure that is a red card like. Hope not.
  8. I am not saying it's impossible to finish outside top 10 with a 400m spend. However it's not needed to be able to finish top 10 either.
  9. I think it is crazy talk, but i am no expert mind.
  10. 400m to break into top 10, that is utter fucking madness if you believe that is needed ?
  11. While I admire the guts and ambitions from our new owners i find it a bit strange that they actively going all out on players at top top clubs. Rome wasn't build in a day, and we should focus on the task in hand. We have a limited and by PL standard a weak squad. It's not like we have to replace Messi and VvD. We need bodies and players that can do the job for us the reminder of the season. I am sure there are players in the CC or in other european leagues that play in lesser clubs that would improve us. Get the feeling that they want to impress and deliver top players all ready now. For me it's the wrong time and the club is in a wrong position. The only upside by moving here now is money. Hopefully we get bodies in before 1 Feb, but i hope we are not wasting or time on players that by all means should not move here in January from a sporting perspective. We will be much more attractive in the summer, if PL status is secured.
  12. I kind of get this point, but what stops the PL doing it now? Isn't all rule changes up for vote anyway?
  13. I agree with you, except Murphy instead of Almiron. We need someone to feed of wood, and wingers that can cross the ball.
  14. I agree. If i where PIF i would get the best and most competent people to run the club. Amanda should always get a lot of credit for getting rid of Ashley, i just hope she understands her own limitations and steps down before her legacy is stained.
  15. New CBs, DM, CAM and maybe a winger. This is whats needed this transfer window. Then we might survive. It would just be so Newcastle, finally got owners willing to invest and we need at least a year in the championship...fml
  16. Agree he is not our "problem", but we could have played with 10 men first half, he was hopeless. Second half better. I like the guy, but that first half was a disaster.
  17. We where not dreadful today, we had good spells. However we have to many passengers in the squad. Lascelles, ASM, Longstaff etc. There will always be a mistake
  18. Now we are just inviting them into the game. Get a fucking grip guys........
