  1. Mind, they didn't really create a particularly great chance. Just completely bossing the midfield.
  2. Credit to Spurs, they're clearly showing their quality in this game in a organisation sense. I can't get over how poor we were there though. Backing off, misplaced passes, flat out surrendering possession in our last third. Worryingly bad, and the fact it's 0-0 is the only positive to take. I'd be fuming if I was a Spurs fan.
  3. McCarthy looks out of his depth currently.
  4. Can only assume we were all out on the lash last night. Awful so far.
  5. Should be a good game for the neutrals this. Everything on 0-0.
  6. Arguably more tedious than the whole 'big club' debates, this "if we'd beat Team X and Y..." I get the meaning behind it - dropping points in matches you should be looking to win - but it's an entirely useless, empty argument.
  7. This season? Or this year? Because in the last 15 game he was fit last season he scored in 14 games in the La Liga scoring a total of 19goals. In this season he's reached 8 already + 4 in two in the CL. He's been injured a lot, but individually he is still easily the best player in the world. Then you have to argue whether Ribery deserves it more for having won more things, but individually he's still a level above the rest. He's still the best footballer in the world. But this season, Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic have shown more world-class quality than Messi. I don't think that's especially debatable IMO. Ibrahimovic? Ronaldo? What? Both Messi and Ribery are levels ahead of both this season. What has Ronaldo done more than Messi? Neil you know better than this. Looked hungrier. Scored more goals. Produced more eye-catching displays. Messi is without doubt not "levels ahead" of Ronaldo this year, I've no idea where you've got that from. We need to isolate Messi's general brilliance with this season. We're talking about ludicrously high standards, yes, but for me Ronaldo has quite simply produced more this season. I think there's a general reluctance, due to Messi's utterly insane superiority over the past few seasons, to ever dare to discuss anyone else being better than him over a given period of time. Each to their own, but for me, there is absolutely no way Messi has been the best player in the world this season. No chance.

  9. I don't like saying this because I'm as big a Messi fan as anyone, but he's not even in the top 2 best players in the world this season. Which, for Messi, has to be regarded as a big drop off in form. And yes, I know we're still talking generally about exceptionally high standards.
  10. Dortmund to win and over 3.5 goals about to come in, but wimped out of over 4.5 goals. Stuttgart love goals - conceding them mainly, it seems.
  11. It would be harsh not to also accurately describe that as a goal.
  12. This could be any score if Dortmund go for it.
  13. I'm genuinely confused. Did the linesman and referee make different decisions?
  14. Look out for any pundits and commentators describing such a scenario as a "solid" and "professional" job by Chelsea - bywords for patronising the face off their opponents.
  15. I don't understand what's just happened. The point is, it was an absurdly clear penalty. Can you tell Dortmund are at home?
  16. No goals in 15 minutes, 2/10 would not watch
