  1. Snap I was meant to be viewing a house thinking we were on later as well, that's been now cancelled so i can watch. (Could be a mistake) Great stuff.

Pineapple on pizza is as clear a sign as any that a person has taken leave of their senses.
  3. Couldn't care less but you really hope he does shit?
  4. I have to agree. Arnonel has gone fucking mental on the B, I, and U functions and even gave some additional colour. A report?! Bullet points? It's getting hot in here.
  5. Horrible feeling they'll continue their momentum and finish in a European spot somehow.
  6. *Apparently* Mancini went mental after Balotelli's somewhat enthusiastic challenge on Clichy. It definitely sounds accurate, anyway.
  7. Just an end-of-series Strictly Come Dancing special.
  8. What's the plan with Anita in terms of where he's going to play? He looks pretty handy going forward, could it be that he'd actually be more of a more directly forward-thinking player than Cabaye? A fully-fit Cabaye will surely make a big difference, providing Pardew gets across the point that the ball should be going through him wherever possible. I guess that would lead to Cabaye being more of a deep lying "playmaker" rather than an attacking midfielder per se?

    Shola Ameobi

I genuinely thought he was alright tonight, he kept our defenders busy, winning plenty of headers or at least pressuring our defenders sufficiently to force a poor clearance.
  10. I thought Obertan was supposed to be shit btw? He was anything but tonight. Don't have a clue why he was brought off, and even less of a clue as to why it was after he'd nearly scored.
  11. Correct. Some of the attacking stuff we've seen from him in the past 2 years wouldn't be sniffed at by Barcelona imo. He's a playmaker from full-back. Been saying for a little while now but honestly, he is one of the best left backs in the world. I think it's hard to comprehend the notion of Everton having the best in the world at any position, but I'm struggling to think of many better.

    Dogawful Officiating

He definitely bottled the big decision of the night. Can't believe we didn't get a penalty when Tiote shoved Naismith to the ground in the box.
  13. I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, but the praise they've been getting isn't justified on the evidence of tonight IMO. I thought they mixed it up well enough. Not a brilliant performance but a solid one, they were there for the taking defensively though and I think with a bit more of a Plan B, we'd have got something from the game. Maybe, IMO we played better on the deck than Everton and many people are criticising us for hoofing it too much. Obviously the result is what it is. Disagree with this, though I suppose I'm bound to. Lost count of the amount of long balls whacked down the middle in the hope of Ameobi nodding it on - not that I disagree with the tactic because my word, with our defending I'd have probably done the same.
  14. Won 2 of the 3 games he was recently suspended for, and generally played very well against Chelsea in the other, don't think we deserved to get beat at all.
  15. I don't have any bad feelings towards Everton at all, but I was surprised how poor you were tonight. The gameplay seems to rely entirely on hitting Felliani with long passes and the odd set piece from Baines. Maybe it was just an off night, but I didn't see any reason to praise them except the result. See, I thought we kept it on the ground just as much as we played it long. Osman, Pienaar, Fellaini, Baines in particular had some great exchanging of passes, the 2nd goal being the prime example, and also very late on when we kept the ball pretty well. Did we also play it long? You bet your bottom dollar we did and why not when Fellaini and Jelavic did such a good job of holding it up? I don't think we were great mind, so I agree with you on that point.
  16. Agreed, not sure about the draw bit. Think yous went a bit easy on us. That's what got me so wound up watching it, it's like we just invited you on and I don't have a clue why. The Santon and Ameobi chances in particular in the 2nd half were as clear cut as they come; I'm very surprised you didn't score again.
  17. Yous can have whatever opinion you like on us. My own opinion is calling us "long ball merchants" and "average" is incredibly petty and bitter, especially when the 2nd goal came about due to excellent passing and movement. On the balance of chances in the game, a draw probably would've been fair, that can't really be denied.
  18. Predictably, you caused us a bunch of problems. Defensively we were at times shambolic when "defending" the long balls from the back (Ameobi won a fair few headers, or at least prevented us from winning them clearly) but we also didn't know what to do when Obertan and Marveaux ran at us. I thought Obertan particularly early on with his sheer pace had us on the back foot, while Marveaux was the one who I thought was going to open us up most. Pleased with how we played once we got past the first 10-15 minutes but when Pienaar and Fellaini both missed chances in the 1st half I thought it was going to be another one of those days. Seen a lot of the comments about the refereeing. Now, let's not go on too much about officiating in Everton v Newcastle fixtures this season. Fwiw the free kick was clearly soft, and both sides had so-so shouts for a penalty. As for the niggly fouls, I thought most were fouls. The crowd were up in arms about every single decision - I'd speculate that was as much, if not more, frustration directed at the performance in parts, as opposed to the individual decisions. Personally I was fuming at how much we invited you onto us later in the 2nd half, it was like we were wanting you to score, and I'm surprised you didn't in the end. The younger Ameobi also caused us trouble in his brief appearance. Heitinga and Naismith were as predicted, for lack of a better word, shite. Naismith in particular doesn't look remotely up to this level.
  19. If you'd like to explain in detail how this is the case, go ahead, and I'll get back to you at full time - regardless of the result - to tell you you're wrong.
  20. Just me who thought Ameobi was decent? You're causing us problems every time the ball's in our box, especially in the air.
  21. No better than us though if we take the game to the opposition for once instead of sitting back and trying to stop them playing. We need them to have to react to us, you know, front-foot football and all that.... We're just too good, too good that it's 1-1 and have looked an absolute mess whenever you've got the ball into our box.
