  1. Hanz-Jorge Butt tucks away the penalty for Bayern. Edit: I think that's his name anyway.
  2. I think there'll be another goal in the Champions League tonight.
  3. West Brom in falling behind at home shocker. Juve ahead, Chelsea equalise.
  4. Atletico 0-2 Porto Marseille 1-1 Real, Lucho.
  5. Prophet's a regular offender for only posting when he wins.
  6. An obvious stake of £1.72 on Chelsea, Juve, Bordeaux, Leeds, Milan, Swansea and Boro.
  7. This is what usually impresses me about Newcastle fans - the away following. I've said before, I'm not surprised you get large numbers at home still because of the geography of the area, but to consistently pack out away ends and indeed in this case potentially outnumber the home fans, is indicitive of the passion of the fanbase.
  8. Definitely worse. GG hunts down every Newcastle supporter one by one.
  9. More to the point, why was he at Blu Bambu on a Sunday night? In fact, why was he at Blu Bambu? At least go somewhere decent to start a brawl.
  10. Fellaini gets away with some naughty things but (especially last season) gets yellow cards for nothing.

    La Liga 09/10

I love to see Bilbao doing well. Someone else might be able to give me a better idea on the whole 'Basque' selection policy... do they strictly have to be from that exact area of Spain, or are there flexibilites in that philosophy? And why are they so fussed (for want of a better word) about not having anyone else in their team? I've probably just understated a load of history there.

    Defending Corners

I hate not having anyone forward. It just invites more pressure on. I'd leave one attacker quite far up, ideally a pacy striker (Lovenkrands in your case?) so that a couple of the opposition players are occupied. Would also have one positioned just outside the area to chase down any scraps. With the Mourinho example, you have to bear in mind how good the defenders who were back in the first place actually were.
  13. I honestly think you only need a couple of players to survive in the Premiership. A proven striker at that level, and a decent enough central midfielder who isn't over 30. A defence of Enrique, Colo, Taylor and Simpson would be alright... I think. I think a lot of the whole 'surviving in the Premiership' question comes down to the momentum you get from going up. Yes, you deserved to go down blah blah blah, but perhaps there'll be a feeling of really fighting to make sure that doesn't happen again. That's my (probably idealistic) view on it anyway.
  14. Yeh for us. Another game where we don't want to win. I said it was cruel not in relation to Hibbert's recklessness, but I thought it was inevitable Defoe was going to score. Your lot had every right to think 2 would have been enough, we looked hopeless 2nd half up until Saha's introduction. Saha's ten times the player Jo is, what the hell is Moyes playing at keeping Jo in the team? I think much like last week, Saha wasn't fully fit so Moyes didn't want to start him. I thought, particularly first half, you got a few iffy decisions yourselves so I'd say it was fairly even in that respect. Didn't think the ref was very good though.
  15. Well, he had the left/middle area of the goal covered. Yes, if Defoe had hammered it into the roof of the net, he wouldn't have saved it. Howard of course was relying on it not being Defoe's finest penalty - which it wasn't.
  16. If Newcastle don't play very well, then them being 10 points ahead of 3rd already is a testament to how embarrassing this league is.
  17. The penalty save? I guess luck as in he could have gone either way, but as I said, Howard apparently was very confident as to where he would go. At least the past week, despite long periods of not playing well, we've got some of the spirit back into the team. Hopefully we can push on from here with a comfortable victory at Stamford Bridge.
  18. Interesting you say that KD - Howard has been speaking and said he was 90% sure what was going to happen, and Saha had a word with him saying the same thing.

  20. Coleman MoM for us I'd say. Hibbert, until that ABH, was doing very well as a makeshift CB.
  21. Shaking here like. Fucking hell, Everton, you will put me through the works won't you? Great point in the end.
