  1. Messi and Rooney are two different players that play two different positions that can influence football matches in their own manner. Technically Messi wipes the floor with Rooney. Rooney may pop up with th odd back heel or a deft chip once in a while but Messi just oozes class and finesse in everything he does, he's just naturally gifted. This alone makes him individually a better player. Rooney on the hand posesses the physical presence that Messi doesn't. He's powerful, strong on the ball and isn't afriad to get stuck in. Both score goals, both are capable of changing football matches but for me only Messi performs week in week out. If you were to ask me now which I'd rather have in my side I'd choose Messi every day of the week.
  2. In terms of all round ability Rooney doesn't get near the likes of Messi, Villa or Gerrard. All players who play or have played in his position in behind the front man.
  3. Cracking game last night, naturally Porto being my favourite foreign side and my hatred of the Manc bastards meant there was only one result I wanted to see. Lucho Gonzalez and Lopez, normally the star performers for their side, took a back seat as Porto once again showed their talent for finding unknowns and turning them into house hold names. Cissoko, Fernando and Hulk really stood out as Porto out played the Mancs for large spells of the game. Naturally Porto fans will be some what disappointed, if it wasn't for Alves's shocking back pass, a couple of half chances that went a miss and some poor refereeing decisions they could well of been out of site. They will however take comfort in the fact no English side has ever won at the Dragao. The only real positives for Man United was the performance of Rooney. As a critic of his abilities even I have to admit his recent displays have been impressive.
  4. Can get 8/1 on Porto tonight. Although I do fancy Man United Porto aren't mugs and with the Mancs recent form its surely worth a crafty couple of quid. Howay Porto you can do it.
  5. Who's playing left wing the reds? Career ending challenge heading your way.
  6. If we keep it on the deck and play some football there's no reason we can't beat them. Those throw ins are always going to cause problems though. Pulis is a genius. Sets his team out to pump some longs up field, keep the pressure on by peppering the box with set pieces and throw ins and when the opposition get the ball back kick the shit out of them. We just need some composure and we should be OK, I can see it being a draw though.
  7. Here come Sky's weekly Ronaldo session. "Oh what an amazing goal, look at his sweaty tangoed legs as he strikes that beutifully scuffed shot into the back of the net, look at it, oh yeah, oh fuck yeah, show it again Richard, show it again, stop. Now show the first..."
  8. Oh my God he scored a goal lets have a wank over Man United academy, wait why stop there he's going to be the best player ever. Sky are such a bunch of tossers man, some of the most biased commentry I've every heard.
  9. Martin Tyler is such a cunt, he couldn't want them to win any more. Five minutes fuck off Riley go crash your car son.
  10. Five minutes, fuck off Riley you brown-nosing cunt. Howay Villa.
  11. Nice finish, Villa have such a lack of experience in terms of shutting up shop.
  12. PSG Breman Sampdoria Athletico 6/1, maybe a bit more. Edit: Luckily this abomination of a bet was restored by putting a cheeky quid on Cheivo to nick a draw at Juve.
  13. SheffieldUunited, Reading, Bradford and Macclesfield enjoy pissing on my parade.
  14. So we weren't expecting anything form the game, that excuses the defending, aye rightio.
  15. Leeds Peterborough Brentford Cheterfield Around 31/1 at Hills.
  16. Hey I'll have you know no one picks out the side netting like Nixon does.
  17. I've heard Nixon can cover right back Pilko. But seriously Gimp played well when he had to cover.
  18. The prospect of playing in an organised defence sounds good. Nixon are you not playing up front again, you ripped the blues apart at times.
  19. Why do I get stuck on the reds again? Blue through and through.
  20. Bar our top four La Liga is much, much stronger than the Premiership.
  21. Will probably be a typical Chelsea performance. We'll battle hard, push them all the way but they'll some how scrap to a narrow margained victory.
  22. Inter Lyon Twente Liverpool About 4/1
  23. Once again I found myself amused at Sky's love of the top four and their players. Goals on Sunday didn't even mention Ronaldo's tackle or general petulance let alone show it amounst the highlights.
  24. Not saying he has done brilliantly since coming back from injury, because he hasn't, but with Lovenkrands and him in attack we have seen attacking moves you simply wouldn't see with Owen in the team due to his lack of movement (unless played in midfield, something Hughton and Kinnear wouldn't even consider). Martins has also scored a goal yesterday from nothing, although he missed one or two he should have scored. He is capable of playing better than he currently is, but I personally don't think Owen would have done better, certainly not in terms of contributing to our general decent attacking play.. Owen looked really off the pace when he came on. It was like watching someone in slow motion. At least Loven and Martins looked like they could compete equally as athletes against Arsenal's players. Wenger actually said they were very lively throughout. Loven should not get a new deal but the fucker worked his balls off yesterday. I think the lad should get a new deal. Put at this way, when everyone is fully fit who would you rather came of the bench, Shola or Lovenkrands?
