Not really much new in there.

Going round in circles, but to PIF we're both an investment and a soft power tool. They're not involved in the day-to-day operations of the club, the same way other owners are. PIF therefore need a top-class executive structure in place, but at present the most important figure at the club is working his notice and we have no Sporting Director. It has likely only delayed things further and resulted in poor communication. I fully believe they'll want to cement their legacy with a new stadium, otherwise why mention it at all? But until they appoint a new CEO, I'll be suprised if we hear much on that front.

I'm convinced the reason we haven't bought a CB yet is that we'll go back in for Marc Guehi.

You can absolutely guarantee that if PIF had bought us and were able to behave the way Boehly and Clearlake are, it would have been stopped by now.

It seems pretty obvious we've told him and his agents under no uncertain terms he's not for sale this summer. Next summer is a different story, there will be a much bigger market for him if he doesn't sign a new contract.
