  1. So AVB > Rafa? After all, his CV at age 33 was the Portuguese League, Cup and UEFA Cup while Rafa was an assistant coach for Real Madrid B. Heck, at 41 he is still ahead of Rafa despite getting sacked from most of his subsequent jobs and taking two years off to crash rally cars. #science
  2. Strangely genius - spend to their hearts content to establish themselves domestically, than balance the books just in time to hop on the Champions League gravy train when they are ready again.
  3. Birmingham fans won't have a bad word for him. Swansea fans won't have a good one. Seemed a bit of a dick towards the end at Swansea outside looking in, but the pressure at the bottom end of the Premier League can be a bit crushing, especially for a manager in his first job. He seems to have fallen into the Lee Clark trap of just bouncing around basketcase clubs - wasn't Monk at Leeds when that bat shit crazy Italian was going through coaches like underwear?
  4. How did they pay for their new stadium? Weren't they were in dire financial trouble at one point and the construction was held up for years - will they pull a Spurs/Arsenal and re-prioritise funds to pay off that instead?
  5. Money is money, if she can stump up the funds I doubt Ashley is going to say no
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sports_venues_in_Australia One of the few who could host it at relatively short notice, only deaths would be the British backpackers who go swimming in Far North Queensland.
  7. Like many of his plans, the ideas don't sound to bad in hindsight, Red Bull and City have done it with excellent results, but couldn't think of a more buffonish human being to try and implement
  8. Final nail in the coffin for the Ronny that like. Context? Local Journalist sliding into the DMs of random Arab speaking accounts asking for translations to try and turn into stories.
  9. PSG. Don't think de Gea is rated that highly in Spain. Has lost his place to Kepa now for them I could see him going to PSG. They are the only big team that probably need a good goalkeeper. Maybe Bayern I guess depending on how ruthless they want to be with Neuer and his recent decline/injury history. Juventus as well, how's Szczęsny doing?
  10. Funniest post I think i've ever seen on this forum was someone describing a day in the life of Lee Ryder. To this day I am unsure how much of it was actually exaggerated.
  11. I think him and his type's days are over, Moyes has been overlooked for the Kilmarnock job, Big Sam gets linked with nothing these days, Hughes, Pullis and McClaren have had to many failures now and it looks like the new vogue is ex top quality players, good riddance some fuckwits will turn to these clowns at some point allardyce is an odd one tbf, kind of surprised no relegation fodder have moved for him since his last stint you might be right overall Don't think Big Sam is really interested these days unless you back up the money truck hard - look how much it took Everton to lure that walrus off his rock - 3 million in salary for 8 months work, then a 6 million pay off at the end of it all on top. They also had to pay Crystal Palace compensation for the privilege. No one in a relegation battle is going to fork that sort of dosh out again.
  12. Considering Hatems history, i'd file it under the "Unlikely to happen, but if it did, I wouldn't be totally shocked" category.
  13. only started last summer after the fans booted off no? Getting a brand new stadium with an extra 25k seats for pretty much free probably helps as well aye i was taking issue with the "every summer" bit, prior to last summer they weren't spending loads iirc According to transfermarkt, the season before they bought Arnautovic for £20m+, and Chicarito for £16m (Although making an overall net profit). The summer before THAT, they spent £75m (Ayre for £21m+), and recouped 36m. Hardly a major splash in the modern game though is it? They have also posted a profit the last couple of years, so they are hardly mortgaging the farm. For all the shit the owners get (and they are odious people) - they run it well from a commercial sense. No doubt not plastering it for free with their own companies advertising might help.

  15. Name a manager with as little experience as Frank Lampard that has succeeded in the PL, let alone at one of the top clubs. That's probably why! Not the Premier League but Zidane and Pep had only Spanish B team experience behind them before nailing the Real Madrid and Barcelona jobs - a single season in Guardiola's case. tbh, when you see what is happening in Germany, maybe clubs in England need to be a bit more adventurous with their manager hires.
  16. Didn't he throw his toys out of the pram and leave the forum because all the nasty things said about Pardew? He definitely had some inside goss - think he was golfing buddies with his agent - but it was always slanted in Pardews favour.
  17. Can I suggest organising an alternative snack?
  18. So bitter about getting caught with their pants down by the Sun and a bunch of Dubai based Twitter users that they decided to hitch their wagon to the "it's BS" without any chance of back tracking. Even if it goes through, look for them to stick to the "frauds and charlatans" angle as soon as we go 7 hours without signing Mbappe and appointing Pep with Klopp as his assistant. Not saying it's locked in going to happen, but these tossers aren't refuting it from a position of knowledge, just throwing shit at a wall hoping they won't have to justify their future employment after missing the NUFC story of the century.
  19. Why the hell would Rafa agree to that without an exit in any signed deal? Who is going to believe that some rich Sheikh with an unlimited budget is going to hinge a 350 million dollar purchase on a manager when he could just go out and buy one just as good?
  20. My biggest concern is that Mike will forget to tell the new owners where his kennel is and there'll be no one to change his water bowl.
  21. Most of the negativity is coming from bitter local journalists scrambling for an angle after getting caught with their pants down for the biggest story in Newcastle United history barring maybe the various ballads of Keegan and Alan Shearer signing. Meanwhile, we have official statements flying around and the original journalists doubling and tripling down. I also don't get the "this is just a smoke screen for Rafa leaving angle" - it would be non-sensical, since we would instantly know the story is BS as Rafa wouldn't leave with a takeover allegedly in the wings - a good cover would need to be able to last the whole summer.
  22. Yes, because you spend 350 million pounds on a football club and make your decisions based on who Richard Keys has and hasn't slagged off in the past Jesus wept.
  23. The family already got fucked around by Ashley a decade ago when they bought City instead, I'm sure they're well aware of hjs childness.
  24. An actual sound and self deprecating on RTG... Have they tracked him down and burnt him the stake for Mag-craft yet?
