  1. Picked the wrong corporate behemoth to try that on with

Our most successful season in two decades was built around Schar and Botman anchoring the defence with Dan Burn at left back.
  3. Barcelona originally only offered 70 million in June that year for Coutinho. Liverpool told both him and Barca to get fucked and waited 6 months to get a number they wanted for him. As they are our superiors - both morally and professionally, I feel we should follow the example set by our Scouse overlords.
  4. Chelsea have been trying for 2 months to offload strikers, not add to them. Besides, signing Sesko would distract Bohley from his lifes passion of signing 250 million pounds worth of midfielders every window.
  5. The Newcastle United Foundation get to pass the donation tin around the Burnley dressing room next time they come to St James Park. Tenner per player minimum.
  6. I'm fairly certain his curiosity might be piqued when the transaction is in the 9 figures and will have a dramatic impact on thier billion dollar asset.
  7. We should follow the example set by our superiors at Liverpool, after all my visits to RAWK over the years have taught me no one runs their club better. That has worked out well for them over the years. Suarez was ready to sue them the year he destroyed the Premier League.
  8. Even if he kicks up a fuss he will come back to the fold in September if no move is secured. I'd actually respect him more if he didn't, but once the window closes and its a choice of playing nice or not getting paid, they always choose the former.
  9. But he wouldn't from us. He also doesn't play for free - I would take Nunez as a bit of a reclamation project since there are flashes of a legit player in there, but not at 140k a week. Probably not even half that tbh.
  10. How I interpret it is that Liverpool thought they could lob enough fireballs behind the scenes with the press and the agent to get him cheap, but the club didn't immediately capitulate. So they put in a bid anyway to show the fans it wasn't just for show. I guess? Definitely isn't the clearest way of wording whatever he is trying to say there.
  11. Yep. The club committed the original sin which should be acknowledged, but the Isak camp have taken it and blown it up well past the point of justified hurt.. especially since cause of it all has been sent to the dole line. But it's how the situation will be resolved to save face if Liverpool don't come to the party. A new contract with a bump in wages, smiles and hugs for a staged photo op with a suitable release clause inserted that becomes active July 1st (which we've already offered). A tale as old as time in modern football.
  12. The exploring options was attributed to club sources - at least in the Athletic reporting. Nearly all of it has come from "club sources" Mitchell fucking him over on the deal was also from internal sources on the Newcastle side, it was part of a wider hit piece when we lost out on Trafford which lumped all of the faults over the past year on the little Levy wannabe.
  13. "I don't base my opinions on allegations... unless said allegations support my opinion, in which case it's fact" When dishing out the blame pie on this mess, the vast majority of it goes to the Isak camp as well as Liverpool and their pet gimps in the press. But you're deluded if you think the club are 100% blameless and that there isn't a slice with our name on it (or at least a certain part of the hierarchy)
  14. Everything that has enraged you about Isak is all hearsay and allegations as well. All that has been said officially from the club is that he isn't on tour due to injury and that there are discussions about his future. Him going on strike, telling the senior players to fob off etc is all just press talk.
  15. Ideally both. Wilson replacement this season, give him 12 months to get used to Howe and the Premier League without having to shoulder the burden of being the primary focal point. Next season we try to lure PSG or Bayern to enter the bidding, flog Isak off to the continent and get a veteran back up.
  16. Allegedly we tabled and agreed to a new deal but Mitchell pulled it. Isak (or more likely his agent) has handled this in the worst way possible and burnt themselves bad - but he did have a legitimate gripe if the reporting was true. Spiting ourselves doesn't solve or prove anything.
  17. Because you're literally parroting what they are pushing for with that attitude. If the play is "let's commit to selling him, but only if we bleed Liverpool like a stuck pig and make this as painful as possible for them" that's perfectly valid - even if it isnt how I would personally play it. But you're just advocating accepting the first shitty offer we get because your feelings are hurt.
  18. The disease of more. Once you get a taste of that 100k a week lifestyle, you're not going to want that to stop coming into your bank account. You'll also start looking at how the star veteran on 200k a week is living and want a piece of that as well. Heck in my "real world" career I've climbed far higher than I thought I ever would with the same motivation but for fractions of these amounts
  19. Maybe we can create you a RAWK account while we're at it - they'll love you. He could have taken a shit on the Angel of the North for all I care, if he comes back and puts the ball in the back of the net to keep a move alive for next year, that is the best outcome for the club.
  20. Ashworth almost had him when he was 16 until Chelsea divebombed us at the last minute (sounds familiar). Might’ve dodged a bullet since he only lasted 3 months before going back to the Southampton Academy - but on the flipside the issues he had at Chelsea (felt ignored and on the outside amongst all their talent) probably wouldn't have occurred up here
  21. I know there's no chance of us actually going down this road... but... imagine https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/07/liverpool-virgil-van-dijk-southampton-drop-interest
  22. Players have constantly proven they can very easily check back in when a move fails and they start risk fines if they don't behave. You sound like a Scouser on Reddit who act the like Coutinho and Suarez sagas never happened.
